The color of your sperm can mean many things - unfortunately also diseases. Typically, sperm is white or white-gray. This is the correct color of semen - a transparent, brown or green semen can signal a medical condition that is worth visiting a doctor. What does the color of sperm say about our he alth?

The color of the sperm- does it matter? Occasionally, a man may notice thatthe color of his spermis changing - different than usual: yellow, green, brown or transparent. It should be remembered that the color and density of semen depends on a man's diet, sexual activity, age and he alth. The normal color of sperm is considered to be white, white-gray or even slightly yellowish.

Sperm has a jelly-like consistency. It has an alkaline reaction, pH 7.2, because in such conditions sperm can move. Sperm jelly is not a cause for concern. What should be worrying is the color change of the seed to green or brown. Why? What does this sperm color mean?

Green sperm color

The green color of the sperm may indicate a gonorrhea infection or indicate a bacterial infection in the urinary bladder.

brown sperm color

The brown color of sperm (also pink, red, brown) indicates that the man's reproductive system is bleeding. Pink semen signifies fresh bleeding, while brown sperm is already healing a wound. Usually the bleeding is in the prostate (it may be irritated or just a vein has broken). A prolonged problem may indicate a developing prostate cancer. On the other hand, the dark color of sperm is an indication for consultation with a urologist.

Yellow sperm

It is also a natural sperm color - but only if it is a slightly yellow color. By contrast, intense bile is a cause for concern. The yellow color of the sperm indicates that there is an infection in the genital area. It can be testicular inflammation, a prostate disease - but to find out, it is necessary to consult a urologist.

Transparent sperm

This is a harmless symptom - it appears in men who frequently have sex and masturbate. The lack of color simply means that the seminal vesicle and prostate are not keeping up with sperm production.

Sperm color and fertility

Unfortunately, transparent sperm is of little value - when it comes to sperm content, it is very low, so male fertility is low. Sperm quality decreases with each intercourse - it just takes time to produce sperm. Therefore, couples trying to conceive are advised to have intercourse every 2-3 days.

Sperma - composition

It's important to know that sperm is not just sperm. In fact, we can find many substances in it, including:

  • Steroid hormones,
  • Amino acids,
  • Enzymes,
  • Vitamin B12,
  • Vitamin C,
  • Fructose,
  • Galactose,
  • Magnesium,
  • Zinc,
  • Calcium,
  • Selenium,
  • Cholesterol,
  • Lipids,
  • Prostaglandins,
  • Spermidine,
  • Cadaverine,
  • Putrescyna.

Sperm contains the aforementioned sperm. A single ejaculation has about 500 million, and the volume of sperm should be 2 to 6 milliliters. Most of the semen is produced in the seminal vesicle and the prostate gland, and it is these organs that are responsible for the color of the sperm, and therefore also for the anomalies related to its color.
