The balance of a two-year-old is a periodic examination that assesses whether a child is developing properly and is properly nourished. The tests also enable early detection of malformations and serious diseases. Check what tests make up the he alth balance of a child at the age of 2.

Why the balance of a two-year-old?

The he alth balance of a 2-year-old child is an examination during which the doctor checks whether the child is developing properly and grows proportionally to the percentile channels. The value of the he alth balance is important for the further handling of a given child, e.g. whether he or she should undergo specialist tests and whether changes in the diet should be introduced.

When to check in on the balance sheet of a two-year-old?

After the child turns 24 months, visit the pediatric surgery or family doctor with the child's he alth booklet. The date of the examination is usually established during the vaccination between 16 and 18 months of age. If your child does not have an appointment, you should visit a he alth care center near your child's second birthday. The balance of a two-year-old should be made no later than 3 months after the age of 2.

Important! For he alth balance, as for vaccination, report when the child is he althy!

Balance of a two-year-old: research

A doctor assesses the general he alth of a little patient by performing a series of basic tests.

1. Weighing and measuring (comparing the child's dimensions with the percentile grids allows you to determine if the child has the correct weight in relation to height).

2. Eye examination (Hirschberg test for strabismus detection).

3. Hearing test.

4. Examination of posture and body proportions (the doctor will check if the child is symmetrically built, if there is no deformed chest, and how it walks).

5. Tooth check (teeth condition check).

6. Examination of motor skills (e.g. ability to climb stairs).

7. Basic research on psycho-cognitive development.

8. Assessment whether the preventive vaccinations were carried out in accordance with the vaccination schedule.

In order to standardize the examination in all pediatric offices, he alth balance cards have been developed, which are filled in by the doctor duringvisits. These cards also ensure that no important research is missed.

What questions can the doctor ask during the balance sheet of a two-year-old?

The doctor will ask if the child can confidently walk, run, climb stairs. How the child says and how much he says. He will also ask if he can already signal his physiological needs.
