- The pills cannot be taken by women with liver failure, atherosclerosis, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, as well as with untreated diabetes (if a woman takes insulin, she can take pills under the supervision of a gynecologist and endocrinologist). The tablets cannot be used by women with coagulation disorders, thromboembolism, breast, ovarian, endometrial and rectal cancer (also if they have had a disease or are genetically burdened with them).
- The pills must not be taken by pregnant women (there is a risk of miscarriage) or those who are breastfeeding (combined pills cause loss of food), women with unexplained bleeding or spotting from the genital tract.
- Tablets increase the risk of developing cervical cancer. Scientists are divided on the increased risk of breast cancer.
- The tablets should not be taken by a smoker after 35 years of age. Nicotine in combination with a dose of hormones increases the risk of thrombosis.
