But when the hormonal balance is disturbed, there is an overproduction of thyroid hormones - this is hyperthyroidism or deficiency - it is hypothyroidism. Even though they are two different medical conditions, one symptom is common: feeling tired.

In hyperthyroidism, there is also insomnia, nervousness, and heart rhythm disturbances. You lose weight despite your increased appetite. You suffer from diarrhea, you have disturbances in your menstrual cycle. You are still hot, sweating, feeling short of breath.

In hypothyroidism, the metabolism slows down, so despite the lack of appetite, you start to gain weight. You are also constantly lethargic, unable to concentrate on the work at hand. The skin becomes dry and scaly. Menstrual disorders appear.

Advice for you: Visit an internist - he will refer you to an endocrinologist for consultation. You will need a blood test to determine the level of thyroid hormones: FT3 and FT4 (T3 and T4) and TSH - pituitary hormone.

Also take care of the correct body weight, because diabetes is favored by overweight. Avoid foods that raise blood glucose levels quickly (including sweets, white bread, bananas). Chronic fatigue: anemia

Anemia is caused, among others, by iron deficiency - an element necessary for the production of red blood cells (erythrocytes). When it is low, the number of red blood cells or their hemoglobin decreases(red blood pigment), which supplies oxygen to the body's cells. As a result, various internal organs are hypoxic and work less well.

You are constantly tired, sleepy, unable to concentrate. You suffer from headaches, dizziness, tinnitus. You may also feel nauseous or lose your appetite. You catch infections easily. Your beauty also suffers: skin turns pale, mouth corners crack, nails split, hair falls out.

Advice for you: Go to the internist - he will order a blood count (it determines the number of erythrocytes and hemoglobin level) and determines the level of iron in the serum. The results will confirm or rule out anemia. Also, eat foods rich in iron, incl. red meat, fish, egg yolks, liver, whole grain bread, thick groats, lettuce, parsley.
