The best Polish biathlete Monika Hojnisz-Staręga (29) ended the pre-Olympic season with two gold medals of the Polish championship. On the route in Duszniki-Zdrój she triumphed in the long run of 12.5 km and in the sprint of 7.5 km. She did not appear in the Sunday race from the joint start (also 12.5 km).

In the sprint race, Hojnisz overtook Anna Mąka by 27 seconds and Joanna Jakieła by 47 seconds. They all missed 10 shots so far. However, the disastrous shooting disposition was maintained by biathlete No. 2 in Poland, Kamila Żuk. She missed five more times, just like the day before in the long run. This time, however, it meant a "box" in every other shot. Kamila finished the competition in the 6th position.

In the absence of Hojnisz and Żuk, Anna Mąka (BKS WP Kościelisko) won the joint start.

For Monika Hojnisz, another season ends without a place on the podium in the event of the highest rank. The peak of her achievements in the World Cup competitions is 6th place in the pursuit race in Oberhof (January this year), and in the world championships - 6th place in the relay race. Although the inhabitant of Chorzów won the gold medal at the European Sprint Championships, this competition has a secondary cast.

The men's sprint was won by Andrzej Nędza-Kubiniec by 12 seconds ahead of the Junior World Championships medalist, Jan Guńka. The only medal, gold medal, was won in the national championship by the theoretically best Polish biathlete, Grzegorz Guzik. He won the race from the joint start of 15 km despite four missed shots on the 20th
