People with AD need to take care of their diet and relaxation, because bad food and stress are very bad for their skin. Daily body care is equally important in atopic dermatitis. Here are simple ways to save you the trouble.
Here are 12 golden rules for dealing with atopic dermatitis (AD):
1. Foratopic dermatitistake a shower every day, but lubricate your skin with a protective cream before getting under the water. If you want to take a bath in the bathtub, be sure to add a little body oil to the water.
2 .For washing use only syndets, the so-called soap-free soaps. They do not contain harmful detergents, are acidic, so they are better tolerated by sensitive skin.
3. After the bath, gently dry the whole body with a very soft cotton towel, do not rub the skin, or it will irritate it. Dry all skin folds with particular care.
4. Grease the slightly damp and warm skin, e.g. with an olive, because the preparation is best spread right after bathing.
5. Use emollients for the daily care ofatopic skin . These are ointments, creams, lotions, lotions, milks for moisturizing and lubricating the skin. After being absorbed by the deeper layers of the epidermis, they block the channels through which the water evaporates to the outside. In addition, they absorb moisture from the environment, thanks to which the surface of the skin is constantly moist. After applying to the skin, they work for about 4 hours, so the treatment should be repeated during the day. There are also emollients in the form of a gel, emulsion or olive that you can also use for washing your body and hands.
6. Wash clothes and bedding in delicate liquids or special detergents for allergy sufferers, and start the rinsing program twice. Wash newly bought towels, underwear and bed linen before use.
7. Avoid contact with materials containing wool - even a small addition of these fibers may cause minor skin injuries. 8 Dress appropriately for the weather and to prevent overheating and sweating of the skin, as this increases the risk of itching and additional irritation many times over.
8. You can go to the pool, but not with chlorinated water, only ozone or brine, but before that, apply a protective ointment on the skin, preferably cholesterol. Do the same when you want to swim in a lake or in the sea.
9. Avoid being in smoking, air-conditioned, dusty and dirty rooms, as this promotes skin dryness and infections.
10. Take care not to allow bacterial or fungal infections of the skin - in the case of atopy, it may result in extensive, difficult to heal wounds.
12. Do not use any medications or alcohol-based liquids - including perfumes and tonics - to avoid drying out the skin.
13. Do not overheat the apartment, keep the temperature at home, especially in the bedroom, quite low (approx. 18 ° C).
