I'm 20 years old. From January 2013, I started to lose weight alarmingly. I am 163 cm tall and weighed 55 kg. I currently weigh 43 kg, so I lost 12 kg in a year. It was not intended. I did tests for diabetes and thyroid gland (basic blood test), but everything is normal. I was gradually losing weight and I wonder why I lost so much weight? I have not changed my lifestyle since then, I am constipated. When it comes to nutrition, sometimes I don't feel hungry and sometimes I'm so hungry that I could eat the proverbial "horse with hooves". The doctor I was examining said that I may have either worms or a great metabolism. I took anthelmintic pills, but that didn't help either. Fortunately, I stopped at this weight of 43 kg and I don't lose more weight, although I have the impression that my bones are becoming more visible every day. Can cigarettes, for example, cause sudden weight loss? I have a fire from time to time. Could sex have an impact on this (the weight loss started 2-3 months after we broke up with her boyfriend)?
I suggest you perform blood tests again, this time extended. In addition to TSH, T3 and T4 must also be done.
Additionally, please count how many calories you eat. Caloric tables are available on the Internet. You should consume over 2000 kcal per day.
Smoking cigarettes, when replacing a meal, can cause caloric deficiency and weight loss.
