Sulphide baths help with a variety of ailments and alleviate many disease symptoms. Starting from degenerative diseases of the spine, through all kinds of rheumatic diseases, to skin diseases. To take full advantage of their beneficial properties, you need at least a few treatments.
Sulfide bathsare therapeutic baths with the use of natural sulphide brine, the composition of which is an indisputable source of he alth. It includes, among others active sulfur compounds as well as macro and microelements (including iodine, bromine, boron, fluorine). The bath lasts about 10-15 minutes, it takes place in water with a temperature close to the temperature of the human body, i.e. about 36 degrees Celsius.
Usually recommended series of treatments, performed three or four times a week.
After each treatment, the patient has to lie down for several dozen minutes, during this time the slight reddening of the skin usually passes, which is a normal skin reaction to contact with sulphide brine. After the sulphide bath, you can take a shower only after about two or three hours. The point is that the active compounds that have penetrated through the skin have time to act and have a he alth-promoting effect on the body.
The doctor may order holistic baths, then the patient is immersed in water up to the line of the heart. There are also partial baths, e.g. for the legs or hands up to the elbows. In both cases, 10-15 treatments are usually recommended, only after this time the positive effects of the therapy can be noticed. They last for about 8-12 months, so it is advisable to repeat the treatment once a year.
Sulfide baths: indications
Sulphide baths alleviate many different ailments. They have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, which is why they are perfect for all types of spine degeneration, discopathy, neuralgia, and sciatica. In addition, the sulphide bath affects the connective tissue, accelerating its regeneration, which is why it brings positive results in the case of rheumatic diseases, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, the so-called ZZSK, i.e. ankylosing spondylitis or psoriatic arthritis. This is not the end of recommendations for sulphide baths.
Research shows that it contains active ingredientspenetrate the skin, contributing to the improvement of microcirculation, lowering cholesterol levels, regulating the level of blood glucose and uric acid, thanks to which baths are recommended for people struggling with atherosclerosis, diabetes, gout.
Sulphide baths are also recommended for patients who have skin problems. You can feel the beneficial effects of sulphide brine on the skin the moment you immerse yourself in the water. The first thing that can be noticed is the fact that the epidermis very quickly becomes softer and more elastic, and the skin, even the one with a tendency to keratinization, is smoothed. Since sulphide baths have an antibacterial effect, they are used to treat all kinds of skin diseases, including seborrheic and acne lesions, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, scleroderma.
Sometimes doctors also recommend sulphide baths for problems related to the reproductive organs, including painful menstruation and in conditions after injuries or overload of the musculoskeletal system, because they contribute to the reduction of swelling and immediately improve the mobility of joints. They also increase the overall immunity and, like all water-related treatments, have a relaxing effect. They not only reduce nervous tension, but also counteract fatigue and general exhaustion. They also improve your mood and energize.
Sulphide baths: contraindications
Contraindications for sulphide baths are similar to those for other balneotherapy treatments. They mainly include hypersensitivity to sulfur compounds, conditions after a heart attack, arrhythmias, advanced phlebitis.
Contraindication is also unstable coronary artery disease, very low or unstable blood pressure, neoplastic disease, chronic inflammation of the liver and pancreas, and pregnancy or breastfeeding.
