They contain not less than 1 g of solids in 1 dm³. Chloride-sodium waters with a concentration of less than 1.5 percent. are called s alt water, and with a concentration greater than 1.5%. - brines and they are used for therapeutic brine baths. Sodium chloride waters, like all mineral waters, always contain a certain amount of additional ions in addition to the essential ions. Their amount changes the effect of sodium chloride water and must therefore be included in the name of the water. The most common ions include iodine, potassium, bromine, magnesium, and calcium.
Brine baths - how does brine work?
Through skin receptors, the autonomic nervous system and tissue hormones, it causes many local and general reactions, such as reducing the excitability of sensory and motor nerves, increased blood supply to the skin, normalization of blood pressure, improvement of heart efficiency, improvement of blood circulation regulation, increased ventilation lungs, stimulate metabolism, increase diuresis (urine output), improve immunity and harden the body.
In case of skin changes (wounds, cuts), cover them with neutral ointment before bathing.
Depending on the state of the autonomic nervous system and circulatory system, age, disease and its stage (whether it is an acute or remission period), total baths, 3/4 baths, half-baths and sitting baths are used.

The most important contraindications are circulatory failure, coronary artery disease with stress angina, a history of myocardial infarction, and valve defects. S alt baths are not performed in acute chronic diseases, as well as in chronic debilitating diseases, hidden psychoses, severe psychopathy, hyperthyroidism, pregnancy, active tuberculosis and cancer, and also in the case of ovarian failure and developmental disorders of the reproductive organs.
