What harms the pancreas? What products are harmful to her? See for yourself - it's worth knowing what can seriously harm our pancreas.
The pancreas is an organ that does not give us cause for concern for a long time, even when something is wrong. We often forget about it and do not care for it properly. What needs to be eliminated from the diet to help your pancreas? What products are harmful?
Meat and meat products
We mean mainly fried and breaded meat. Also fatty meat: beef, pork, offal and mutton. The work of the pancreas is adversely affected especially by offal, which "drips" with fat and cholesterol, and may also contain steroids, growth hormones or antibiotics.
Cream and greasy sauces
It's a blow straight to the pancreas - cream-based sauces are difficult to digest and we often feel pain after eating them.
Vegetables and fruit bloating
People with pancreatic diseases should not eat them. I am talking about:
- cabbage,
- onions,
- time,
- garlic,
- legume seeds,
- cherries,
- plums.
You can eat them in a processed form - e.g. after cooking or compote.

Sugar
Excessive consumption of sugar can lead to inflammation in the pancreas, which in turn can lead to the development of diabetes. Sugar can be found not only in cookies or bars, but also in ketchup, cereals or even in bread.
It is worth remembering that sugar is also found in e.g. honey and many fruits. You should limit its consumption.
Fat
Fat should be limited to prevent fibrosis and the loss of glandular tissue in the pancreas, which impairs the function of the pancreas and may lead to the development of diabetes mellitus. Use moderately high-quality fats - such as olive oil or rapeseed oil.
Patients with chronic pancreatitis should follow a low-fat diet.
