Proper breathing has an impact on our he alth, well-being and even life expectancy. Even so, none of us think about how we breathe. Check what are the techniques and methods of breathing.
Why do you needbreathing techniques ?Breathing properlyis not easy at all. Only small children (up to 3-4 years of age) breathe properly. Then they slowly lose this natural ability. According to the observations of doctors, most people cannot breathe fully breastfeeding - they draw air shallowly and hardly use the diaphragm (this is typical especially for women). The body then receives too little oxygen and gets tired faster. There is a feeling of weariness, headache and irritation. Long-term "oxygen starvation" leads to a deterioration of intellectual performance, lowers immunity, and may cause diseases of the respiratory, digestive and circulatory systems. The skin also suffers - it ages faster because regeneration processes take place slower. Therefore, if you want to be he althier, start by breathing consciously. Then your body will work more efficiently.
Effective, proper breathing
With each inhalation, oxygen-saturated air enters the lungs, and with each exhalation, carbon dioxide is removed. This cycle repeats around 20,000. times a day, 12-14 per minute. Even so, you may be hypoxic if you breathe shallowly (only with the tips of your lungs). Then a negligible amount of oxygen reaches the lower part of the lungs - the so-called a dead zone that doesn't work and lung capacity decreases. Effective breathing is based not on the work of the lungs, but on the diaphragm. It is a large flap of muscle that separates the chest from the abdominal cavity. When properly inhaled, the diaphragm lowers and makes room for the enlarging lungs, thanks to which they are completely filled with oxygen. As you exhale, your abdominal muscles push the diaphragm upwards, making it easier to push air out of your lungs.
Make sure you are breathing properly
Place one hand over your breasts, the other on your stomach, just below your breastbone (this is where the diaphragm is). If only the hand on your chest moves while breathing, you are using your diaphragm very little. Therefore, put her to work by doing breathing exercises. You can improve your breathing quality by playing sports. During exercise, the lungs are forced towork harder, thanks to which the breathing deepens and its capacity increases. So appreciate walking, swimming and cycling. And also laugh and sing often - it perfectly oxygenates the body.
ImportantCauses of immunodeficiency
The most important non-specific barrier is the skin and mucous membranes that line the various systems. The respiratory tract is protected by a layer of mucus and tiny cilia - they transport pollutants and expel them outside. However, if the cilia are damaged as a result of frequent infections, they are short, weak, and stop fulfilling their function. Nose hairs are a filter that prevents germs from getting inside. Sneezing also prevents it. However, it is enough if the natural bacterial flora or irritated mucous membranes are disturbed and the germs can easily penetrate the body. The first line of defense in the mouth is saliva - it contains good bacteria and substances that destroy pathogenic microbes. Failure to fight off an attack causes germs to settle in the respiratory tract, damaging the mucous membranes in the throat, larynx and nose. And because they are linked to other organs, they can also attack other parts of the body, causing inflammation of the bronchi, lungs, sinuses, ear and even the brain.
Conscious breathing
Working with the breath is fundamental to breathing techniques such as rebirthing, and is also part of yoga, tai-chi, and other spiritual schools in the East. It is also appreciated by modern psychotherapy. There is a close relationship between the breath and the psyche. The rhythm of breathing changes with the influence of emotions and thoughts. When you have an intense sensation (such as anxiety), you instinctively flatten, accelerate, or hold your breath. Conscious breathing allows you not only to calm down and free yourself from negative emotions, but it is also an element of working on yourself. However, there are more benefits. Research has shown that proper breathing increases concentration and improves thinking. Deep breathing also helps relieve anger, relaxes effectively and lowers blood pressure. It facilitates the removal of toxins and strengthens the immune system, and also provides a huge portion of energy. The effect of oxygenating the body is also the better work of all internal organs.
