  • light yellow , almost transparent - this color usually means that we drink a lot of fluids and the urine is thin;
  • dark yellow- indicates that the urine is concentrated due to too little fluid;
  • intense bright yellow- this is the color of urine when taking B vitamins;
  • red, red-brown, orange- this color of urine appears after eating beetroot, rhubarb, blackberries or when taking beta-carotene. However, it may also mean an increased secretion of bilirubin, which is associated with liver diseases - cirrhosis, inflammation or tumor metastasis. It also appears under the influence of taking levodopa - a drug used in Parkinson's disease;
  • red, red-brown- this color may indicate the presence of blood in the urine and suspicion of kidney or bladder diseases. However, it also occurs under the influence of drugs: nitrofurantoin administered in urinary tract infections, anesthetics (e.g. lidocaine and barbiturates), painkillers (diclofenac, antibacterial drugs (erythromycin, clindamycin), sex hormones (progesterone, synthetic gestagens, lutein), antihistamines (clemastine);
  • yellow and pinklubred-brown- this is the color of urine when drinking aloe vera juice or taking biostimine;
  • greenish urine - may indicate infection with the stick of blue pus or the taking of drugs or the consumption of food dyes or asparagus. It can also be a sign of prostatitis, pyelonephritis or cystitis;
  • red-pink- may indicate urate excretion, e.g. in gout;
  • black- urine is often red when we take iron preparations.
