Can a bruise develop cancer? Could a bruise cause cancer? Is there any need to worry if a bruise grows on its own, without impact, or does not go away? Should bruises be treated? These and other questions are answered by the drug. med. Grzegorz Borstern, specialist in internal medicine.
A bruiseis a bloody run-up of the skin. A bruise occurs when blood, through damaged tissue, seeps into the subcutaneous tissue, usually in an area that is severely hit or squashed. The exception is bruising under the eyes, which may form after a blow to the forehead or temple.
This is because the blood flows (falls) under the influence of gravity. It has a fairly clear shape, as the undamaged tissue surrounding it contracts, thus inhibiting blood flow to the bruised area. It is a kind of self-healing organism. Simple bruises heal in a few days unless there is a more serious injury.
If the bruises last longer than a week and you hurt, see a doctor. Such a condition may mean disturbances in blood clotting. This is found after a simple blood test for platelet count, clotting time and bleeding time.
Can a bruise form cancer?

However, cyanobacteria can be one of the symptoms of neoplastic disease, such as leukemia. A symptom of acute leukemia can be frequent bleeding and easy bruising without harming the body (as a result of a shortage of platelets - thrombocytes - and a reduction in red blood cells - erythrocytes), as well as looking pale and constantly tired (as a result of anemia).
- When bruises appear spontaneously for no apparent reason, they can also be a sign of another serious disease such as hemophilia. But it can also be a symptom of a significant vitamin C deficiency or the use of drugs - corticosteroids - adds the expert.
