A moment of inattention is enough to bruise a knee, twist an ankle or stretch a muscle. Injuries don't just happen on the pitch, they can happen anywhere. It is worth knowing how to provide first aid to the victim.

Both sports and a sedentary lifestyle can contribute toinjury . In the latter case, too weak muscles, tendons and joints are to blame. Then any more violent movement for which they are not prepared leads to an injury.

How to provide first aid in case of:

- TURNS

It is enough for the foot to slide off the heel or unfortunately with your hand to overstretch the ligaments. The ankles, knees and wrists are the most susceptible to such injuries. The twisted joint hurts and cannot be moved. When you touch a sick area, the pain increases. The joint is swollen, a bruise may appear after a few days.
First aid:apply a cold compress or ice pack for an hour. To reduceswelling , the joint should be systematically cooled down for 24 hours if possible. If your leg hurts, it is a good idea to put on an elastic bandage. In the event of an ankle sprain, you can use a tourniquet or a special stabilizer. The healing of the leg will be accelerated by the restriction of walking, it is best to put the affected arm in a sling.

- STRETCHING

They are caused by sudden movement or lifting. This is too much stretching of muscle fibers, tendons or ligaments. Sometimes it even breaks off. Stretching a muscle is usually accompanied by a prickly point pain that increases with pressure. Sharp pain when bending and straightening the joint shows that a tendon or ligament is stretched.
First aid:apply a cold compress. If the symptoms improve after 24 hours, a warm compress can be applied. You also have to spare your injured arm or leg. If the pain gets worse, see your doctor.

- BREATHING

These are the most common muscle injuries. They are usually the result of a rollover or a heavy impact. As a result of "contact" with a hard surface, small subcutaneous vessels are damaged. Blood from ruptured blood vessels leaks into the tissues. Severe pain and a bruise are typical symptoms of an injury. Sometimes a tumor forms(hematoma) that hurts when touched.
First aid:a cold compress will reduce subcutaneous bleeding and swelling. Place the affected arm or leg higher than the heart - this will also reduce bleeding under the skin. After a day, apply a warm, moist compress to the sore area, which will dilate the blood vessels and facilitate healing.
