Sex, especially successful, is not only he alth and a source of extraordinary sensations, but also a great medicine and cosmetic, and one of the most effective and pleasant ways to get rid of extra pounds. The beneficial properties of this activity have been unequivocally confirmed by many scientific authorities - cardiologists, endocrinologists, neurologists, dermatologists and other specialists. Sex relieves pain, firms the skin, prevents heart attacks and strokes, regulates blood pressure, strengthens the body … These are just some of the beneficial effects of sex. And there are many, many more!
1. Sex heals colds
People who have sex increase their body's immunity. All thanks to the fact that frequent sex increases the level of antibodies - immunoglobulin A (IgA) in the body.
Researchers at Wilkes-Barre University1in Pennsylvania tested 111 of their students: they first checked their antibody levels, then asked about how often they had sex. People who devoted themselves to this physical activity on average less than once a week (in the perspective of a month) had a slightly higher level of immunoglobin A compared to abstainers, while students who had sex twice a week had 30 percent more antibodies IgA in the body than those who do not have sex.
Clifford Lowell, an immunologist at the University of California, explains that this is because sexually active people are exposed to sexually transmitted infections, and therefore their bodies respond to the appearance of foreign antigens by increasing the production of IgA antibodies. These antibodies also help fight colds and the flu.
2. Sex reduces stress and lowers blood pressure
In turn, scientists from Paisley University2in Scotland examined 24 women and 22 men regarding the relationship between sex and stress.
It was found that sexually active people were better at public speaking and breaking updifficult tasks than those who did not have sex before: they had lower blood pressure and better mood.
It is worth adding, however, that these studies only concern vaginal intercourse, people who practiced other sexual activity, e.g. masturbated, petted, did not respond to stress better than sexual abstainers.

3. Sex strengthens the heart
Sex also turns out to be a cure for cardiological problems. Professor Shah Ebrahim of the University of Bristol in England3and his team revealed that even slight but regular sexual activity is cardiovascular protective. It's even better when sex ends with an orgasm. If this happens three or more times a week, the risk of heart attack and stroke is halved. It also lowers the risk of heart disease.
4. Sex heals insomnia
Those who have trouble sleeping can try sex as a remedy for this condition. Why?
During orgasm, the secretion of prolactin, the hormone that causes sleepiness, increases. In addition, during sex, oxytocin is also produced to reduce stress, which also helps you fall asleep peacefully. Moreover, the aforementioned prolactin maintains a low level of sexual arousal dopamine for up to two weeks after orgasm, allowing you to maintain a state of moderate sexual satisfaction during this time.
5. Sex increases the feeling of closeness and security
Sex is also of great importance for the emotional bond between partners. Orgasm releases oxytocin, called the love hormone, which makes lovers feel more intimate and strengthens their bond with each other. Oxytocin also triggers protectiveness and the willingness to protect the partner from danger. The combination of "sex + oxytocin" works for both women and men. The level of oxytocin in the body increases, the greater the number of sexual intercourse ending with orgasm.
6. Sex relieves pain
Reportedly, one of the most common excuses people make when they don't want sex is about a headache. Meanwhile, sexual activity is a natural remedy for pain. This conclusion was reached by scientists from the University of Münster in Germany, who attributed this merit to endorphins produced during intercourse (more specifically during orgasm), which have an analgesic effect. U 1/3of the sexually active subjects, remission of migraine, cluster headache and severe recurrent one-sided headaches was observed.
7. Sex promotes weight loss
Sex is physical activity, so we burn calories in the process. On average - from 70 to 100 calories, but the more we "work", the more calories we will burn. Therefore, it is worth experimenting and using both standing and sitting positions, as they require more hip work.
In the "from the back" position, the man burns 64 kcal and the woman - 42 kcal. In the rider position, the man loses 40 kcal and the woman - 67 kcal.
Since oxygenating the body helps burn fat, making love outdoors is not a bad idea. Similar to foreplay to the beat of the music (e.g. striptease), frequent changes of position and pace.
8. Sex reduces the risk of prostate cancer
This is good news for men - frequent sex reduces the risk of prostate cancer. According to the He alth Professionals Follow-up Study by Dr. Jennifer Rider4of Boston University, there is a correlation between the chance of avoiding prostate cancer and the number of ejaculations in adulthood. This probability in men who declared at least 21 ejaculations per month (not only sex but also masturbation was taken into account) is 21 percent lower than among men who declare 4-7 ejaculations per month.
9. Sex is beneficial for skin and hair
Regular sex has a positive effect on appearance. However, it all starts inside with a better blood supply to the body. During intercourse, the blood circulates faster and the blood vessels dilate. This allows more oxygen and nutrients to enter the skin, leaving the hair shinier and smoother. Sex also causes the secretion of serotonin, which affects our better well-being, and thus the gray shade of the skin disappears and we look more joyful, full of energy.

10. Sex is the guarantee of a woman's he alth
The he alth benefits of sex are enjoyed by both men and women, but women seem to have more of them.
One of them is the exercise of the pelvic floor muscles - during sex, whether we like it or not, we train them, and they - well exercised - not only help with problems with urinary incontinence or faster recovery after childbirth, but also contribute to to more orgasms. The better the pelvic floor muscles function, the easier it is to achieve fullnesspleasure.
Not only sex, but even hugging lowers blood pressure in women.
Another advantage of sex that women will appreciate is the relief of PMS - as sex increases the levels of oxytocin and endorphins in the body, has a relaxing effect and positively influences the mood, relieving the symptoms of PMS. During sex, the smell of male pheromones reaches the hypothalamus in the brain of a woman more than usual, which in turn causes the production of female sex hormones, estrogens, and affects the regulation of the menstrual cycle. Additionally, sex during menstruation, although not everyone is enthusiastic about it, helps treat menstrual pain.

Although sex has its undeniable benefits, too much of it can make you tired. Buddhist monks believed that having sex more than once every two or three weeks deprived a man of energy that could be used for other purposes. They even believed that sex "steals" the energy that flows out of the body along with semen. Anyway, the whole Taoist theory of ars amandi is based on this wasted energy. Therefore, Taoism recommends ejaculation-free sex, consisting of long (!) Hours (!) Intercourse, not ending with ejaculation. During such intercourse, you can do many other things - read, eat, look at photos …
Western ars amandi does not support the theory of energy leakage during sex, on the contrary, sex drives this energy, which translates into a longer and he althier life. For example, researchers from Rutgers University in New Jersey report that having sex three times a week means life ten years longer.
But, like everything we do without moderation, too much activity can also hurt. It can be felt especially by men, in whom subsequent intercourse may proceed without ejaculation. And that can stress them out. Excessive sexual activity causes irritation to the genitals, especially sore testicles. However, how often you have sex to enjoy yourself without side effects is individual.
