I am 36 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from diabetes for 10 years. I am 36 years old, I did all the prenatal examinations, echo of the fetal heart in the 20th week, I went to the gynecologist every 2 or 3 weeks, at the end of my pregnancy I go every week, everything was fine. Recently, my gynecologist, due to the fact that I was taking Acard, sent me again for an echo of the fetal heart. The cardiologist stated that on the 20th week it is too early to detect defects, and on the 36th week too late, because nothing can be seen, but he suggested the disproportion of the ventricles. Is it possible for no one to notice this before with so much research, and what could be the consequences? Should the solution with diabetes occur in the 38th week and which date is taken into account from the last menstruation or ultrasound?
Disproportion is a difference in size. The fetal heart enlarges as the child grows and asymmetry of this development can occur at any time. Detailed diagnosis will probably be possible only after delivery. It is generally believed that diabetic patients should deliver in term rather than after term. This date is based on the assessment of fetal welfare, weight, blood flow, diabetes control and daily blood glucose levels.

- Gestational diabetes
- Glucose control
