Pregnancy should end in the 33rd week! That's what my patients think. They already know almost everything they should. They listened to all the horrible stories about childbirth given to them by their family, friends and the Internet. Nothing could be more wrong. A child born on this date will survive, but the pregnancy should be reported until 38-42 weeks - this is the safest way!
Women in the last weeks of pregnancy are sluggish, their basic life activities are short of breath, pain and calf cramps. They have swollen ankles. They pee every 5 minutes. They have pain in the perineum, the cross, the pubic symphysis and the soul. They know that a child born this week will survive.
However, I must remind you that pregnancy lasts from 38 to 42 weeks. At week 38, the baby breathes on its own. Before it was different. The later the birth, the better.
There is still a myth in some places that it is better to give birth in the 7th than in the 8th month. It probably came from the fact that if the pregnancy was full of complications (premature uterine contractions, bleeding, cervical suturing, use of supportive drugs), then the stressed future citizen released so much adrenaline that it helped in the production of surfactant (a factor that accelerates the development of the lungs). ) and is more likely to breathe independently than a colleague born a little later from a physiological pregnancy. Which does not change the fact that every day or week more the greater the chances of survival.

Preparation for childbirth: birth school
Cool name. It reminds me of a driving school. It lasts the same time, they also play movies. At the end, the students are only a little less green than at the beginning. And just like driving a car, practice is more important in childbirth than theory.
I support the idea of birth schools, but I advise you not to count that thanks to them, women will learn to give birth.
Every woman is different, and no two births are the same. Birthing school has two benefits: it reduces the fear of the unknown, and it helps you know when and where to seek help. It makes these difficult moments you can devote to yourself and the child, and not to thinking about why I should have a cannula or an enema.
In most schools, however, the classes are rehearsed. The doctor comes in and tells you how to recognize the birth and what might be happening. The midwife comes and tells you how to breathe and that you don't need anesthesia, it's better to make an appointment with her, and she will arrange everything. The pediatrician comes and tells you what the child is vaccinated for, how to bathe him and care for the umbilical cord.
Rarely talks about the psychological aspects of childbirth, and it is not about emotional elation, but about problems: fear for oneself and for the child, reluctance to feed, changing the social role of a woman and her relationship with her partner.

Uterine contractions before childbirth
The uterus may tighten and contract in certain situations (e.g. full bladder, sudden movement). It is important that it is sporadic and does not have a tendency to build up. At the end of the third trimester, uterine contractions occur: prognostic called Alvarez contractions, or a slightly more painful Braxton-Hicks contraction. These are uncoordinated contractions, occurring in different parts of the uterus - they are not contractions of the entire uterine body. According to some authors, they should be less than 3 per hour, according to others - up to 8 per hour.
How to tell if they are contractions associated with the risk of preterm labor or predictive contractions? The only determinant is whether they shorten and dilate the cervix. And here we come to the heart of the matter. If the doctor does not examine the patient, he does not know it.
There are patients who stay awake all night before birth because of their contractions, we examine them almost every day, and the cervix, as it was long and hard, is still the same. Sometimes it is fully dilated with slight aches and pains in the lower abdomen. There is only one moral: when in doubt, go to a doctor to have you examined. A telephone consultation is not enough.
The brown line disappears after giving birth
In pregnancy, the white line from the symphysis to the navel turns into a brown line, also known as black. It is visible especially in brunettes and ladies with dark complexion. It is caused by a build-up of a pigment called melanin. The intensity of the pigmentation has no relation to the sex of the offspring, preterm labor, miscarriage or intelligence. So don't worry about the brown line, especially since it disappears a few or a dozen or so months after giving birth.
