This is the second trimester of pregnancy. Your little one hears, moves and starts to look more and more like a little human … Your body is changing - your belly is visibly enlarging, you may suffer from flatulence, heartburn, and leg swelling. In the second trimester, you begin to feel your baby move.
In the second trimesterof pregnancyan enlarged belly makes the pregnancy already visible. It is also slowly starting to be safer - the risk of miscarriage is significantly reduced.
Fourth month of pregnancy
The fetal digestive system is formed, as well as the sexual one. The sex can already be determined on ultrasound. The vocal cords and the sense of hearing have developed - the baby reacts to noise and sounds. Between week 15 and week 20 you begin to feelbabymoving. It already weighs about 110 g, reaches a length of up to 12 cm. The unpleasant symptoms characteristic of the first trimester cease. Well-being returns, you are often bursting with energy. However, you may still experience headaches and dizziness, this time due to the drop in blood pressure. There are also fainting, bleeding and rhinitis. A vertical line called a black line appears below the navel. The line will most likely lengthen by the end of pregnancy, but will disappear after the birth. During the second trimester of pregnancy, your body's fluid requirements increase. So drink 1.5 - 2 liters of fluid a day. You now have a greater need for energy - around 2,600 kcal per day.
Fifth month of pregnancy
The child is more and more mobile. Its weight reaches about 300 g. The head is 1/3 the length of the whole body. Ultrasound examination already allows to detect abnormalities in the structure of the spine and skull. You can hear your heartbeat. The child reacts strongly to all stimuli: noise, light, vibrations (e.g. washing machines), cold (e.g. when you drink a cold drink or take a cold shower). You're not feeling well again. There is a lot of water in your body and your feet and ankles are most likely swelling. Therefore, it is worth limiting s alt consumption, as well as being in a standing position. Lubricate your legs with gels and creams that soothe swelling in your legs. You may experience constipation, flatulenceand heartburn, as well as clear or light yellow vaginal discharge. Vaginal discharge is caused by congestion of the cervix and the resulting increased activity of the mucous glands. You have to distinguish it from vaginal discharge caused by infection - then they are irritating, they havebad smell. In this case, be sure to see a doctor. You can do peaceful, regular exercise, as well as breathing and relaxation exercises, and exercises to strengthen the pelvic muscles. During the second half of pregnancy, your body requires calcium and iron. Calcium deficiency manifests itself in headaches, painful muscle spasms, and tooth decay. Calcium obtained from milk products - kefirs and yoghurts is the best absorbed.
Sixth month of pregnancy
The creature you carry in your belly looks more and more like a tiny man, even though it is only about 30 cm tall. His head is large and shaped, and there are eyebrows and eyelashes on his face. His nostrils begin to open, allowing him to practice breathing - not air, of course, but amniotic fluid. The child is very fond of all kinds of caresses, e.g. stroking the belly. He also likes the way you move (e.g. when you dance), as well as classical music, especially Mozart's - this has been scientifically proven. Besides, he can already distinguish between parents' voices, so it's worth talking to him often! During this time, he also learns to use the sense of balance. Your movement serves him, so you should not extend the moment of rest (unless your doctor tells you otherwise). In the sixth month, you may develop varicose veins, not only on your legs, but also on the labia, in the anus and in the vagina. Usually they are not very big and most often they decrease significantly or disappear completely after giving birth. Unfortunately, they return with the next pregnancy. You may also suffer from constipation caused by pressure on the uterus. So it's worth taking care of regular bowel movements, e.g. by drinking boiled water on an empty stomach and eating fruit or vegetables before going to bed. Other unpleasant ailments during this period include increasing discharge and pain in the lower abdomen. Later this month, your doctor will refer you for another ultrasound scan, which can check your baby's heart and other organs. If he was born now, there is a chance of saving him. It is also a good time to enroll in birthing school, where you and your partner will learn how to actively prepare for childbirth.
