There are gender planning methods you can try to increase your chances of this happening. So read on for what you can do, and which ways to treat a boy and a girl to try out!
The sex of the childdepends on whether the egg (which always has the X chromosome) will fertilize the sperm with the X chromosome (then a girl will be born) or Y (there will be a boy). This is how nature works, but sometimes a person wants to step in and startplanning the sex of the child . You can try the methods described below onhow to plan the gender of your baby , but remember not to take it too seriously. For two reasons: because in the event of "failure" there may be difficulties in accepting and loving a child of the "wrong" gender, but mainly because virtually none of theways to get a girlor ways for a boyis not supported by scientific evidence.

How to plan your baby's gender?
1. Diet
It is assumed that the diet of people looking for ways to father a son should be s alty. Furthermore, parents who wish to have a male offspring should eat plenty of foods that contain sodium and potassium. In the menu of people who want to have a daughter, there should be more sweet products than s alty ones. In order to conceive a baby girl, it is also worth including calcium and magnesium in your diet.
The diet must be started at least 6 weeks before conception. But be careful not to overdo it: eating a particularly s alty diet for too long can harm your he alth, for example by causing high blood pressure. According to research carried out a few years ago in South Africa, caffeine also plays an important role: ladies drinking at least two coffees a day gave birth tosons three times more often than those who did not drink coffee.

2. Ovulation method
This very popular method of baby sex planning is based on the discovery that "male" sperm is different from "female" sperm. The former are smaller and faster, but less resistant and have a shorter life span, while the female ones are larger, move slower, but are more resistant to the acidic environment in the vagina and therefore can survive longer in the genital tract. This discovery was made by the American gynecologist Dr. Landrum B. Shettles, so this method is also called the Shettles method. It is about having sexual intercourse during which you are to conceive at a specific point in the menstrual cycle.
For fertilization to take place at all, the sperm must bind to the woman's egg. An egg is released from the ovary only once per cycle (known as ovulation) and it lives for about 24 hours. So if you want to father a boy, you should have intercourse as soon as possible - within a few hours before or after ovulation, because "male" sperm is faster and will reach the egg ready for fertilization first. If you prefer to father a baby girl, it is better to make love 1 or 2 days before ovulation - then there is a chance that by the time the egg is ready for fertilization, the weaker Y (male) sperm will largely die out, and the more resistant X sperm will survive - and to the world a girl will come.
For this method to be effective, you need to be able to accurately determine the time of ovulation. This can be done by observing the mucus (while it is ovulatingtransparent and stretchy), measuring body temperature every day (it increases by 3-4 lines from the moment of ovulation) or using easy-to-use ovulation tests (available at the pharmacy). The Shettles method is 75-80% effective.

Worth knowingChinese gender calendar
One of the best known, and certainly those with the longest tradition, methods of planning a child's gender is the Chinese gender calendar. The Chinese used it more than 700 years ago and praise its 100% effectiveness, although there are no scientific studies to confirm it. The accounts of parents who were looking for ways to get a daughter or a son are different - they worked for some, not for others.
How to plan a child's gender according to the Chinese calendar? Only the age of the mother and the planned conception of the child are taken into account. It is worth adding, however, that the mother's age is not counted from the date of her birth, but taking into account the Chinese calendar, in which the months are 28 days old. Accurate calculations can be made using the many free calendars on the Internet.
The Chinese calendar raises doubts because it does not take into account the child's father at all, while the child's gender is determined by having two X chromosomes or an X and Y chromosome, and the latter is the man.
3. Selnas method
K French biologist Patrick Schoun claims that "male" and "female" sperm have different electrical potential - Y sperm are positively charged, and X sperm negatively. The potential of the ovum is variable: negative for 60-70 days a year, positive for 60-70 days, and no electric charge on the remaining days. On this basis, a method of polarization was developed (the so-called Selnas method) - when the egg is negatively charged, it attracts "male" sperm and then only a boy can be sired, and when the egg is positively charged, it attracts sperm which guarantees the birth of a girl. For a woman who wants to use this method, an individual calendar of polarization cycles is developed, i.e. periods that are conducive to the conception of a child of a certain sex. The calendar is determined on the basis of individual data, incl. date of birth, blood group, date of the first period and the course of menstrual cycles. You can use the method online, just fill in the form on the website, providing your data - free and paid tests are available on various websites. Proponents of the method argue that this method of planning a child's gender is approximately 90 percent effective.
4. Sperm selection
The suresta way for an egg to fertilize a specific type of sperm is to separate the X sperm from the Y sperm and introduce the processed sperm into the woman's genital tract. First, this was done by centrifuging the X sperm from Y using the differences in their size and weight. However, this is an unreliable method - the effectiveness is only about 70 percent. For several years, the American company MicroSort has been sorting sperm using the so-called flow cytometer. It is a device that analyzes all sperm sequentially and divides them - due to the difference in DNA mass - into lighter (Y) and heavier (X). According to the company's data, the success rate for the birth of girls is 92 percent, and for boys - 81 percent. This is an experimental method for now, and its cost is 4-6 thousand. dollars. In Poland, none of the methods of planning a child's sex by means of sperm selection are available.
