AneVivo is a new method of infertility treatment. It is supposed to be an alternative for those who do not want to use IVF. The whole process takes place in the mother's body, without dishes or puncturing. This type of treatment is already available, among others in Great Britain and Spain, and soon it will also be in Poland. What exactly is the AneVivo method?

AneVivomay revolutionize infertility treatment in Poland. In this new method of assisting reproduction, the entire process of fertilization and early development of embryos takes place in the womb, and not in the petri dish and under the microscope as it used to be. The technique was developed by the Swiss biotechnology company Anecova with the support of scientists from the Federal Polytechnic University of Lausanne.

AneVivo - what is the new method of infertility treatment?

The AneVivo method uses a silicone capsule (also called "silicone womb") that is 1 cm long and 1 mm wide. It is filled with sperm and eggs and then placed in the uterus for 24 hours. In the capsule, cells fuse and the embryo develops early. After 24 hours, the 1 cm long and 1 mm wide pot is removed. Then he althy embryos are selected from it and after 2-4 days they are placed back in the woman's body.

AneVivo - closer to nature

- This is a real breakthrough in the treatment of infertility in Poland. We are dealing with a situation in which we can fertilize inside a woman's body, without using a dish and puncturing the eggs, says Dr. method.

In the AneVivo method, the entire process of fertilization and early embryo development takes place in the womb, not in the Petri dish and under the microscope, as it has been so far.

I adds: - The sperm with the egg connect here in a natural way, and the fertilization process and the subsequent growth of the embryo are stimulated by natural nutrients, not laboratory nutrients. What's more, the embryo spends the first hours of its development in the uterus, i.e. in its natural environment created by the female body for it, says the specialist.not the only advantages of the new method. Due to the fact that fertilization takes place in the woman's body, the endometrium, i.e. the mucosa, is better prepared for the development of the introduced embryo. Thus, the chances of pregnancy development increase. This method also shortens the time the embryo remains outside of the woman's body. The psychological aspect is also crucial. - Most of the process here takes place in a woman's body. This significantly increases the bond between the mother and future offspring - argues Dr. Mercik. Moreover, as fertilization takes place in a woman's body, this method may also become more acceptable to religious environments.

Worth knowing

Treatments using the AneVivo method will be available at the Gyncentrum clinic in Katowice from the end of June. The center is implementing them as the first infertility treatment facility in Poland and the third in Europe. The AneVivo method is already used by clinics in Great Britain and Switzerland. According to Paweł Czerwiński, the president of Gyncentrum and the originator of bringing the method to Poland, it can significantly expand the group of people who will reach for the help of infertility treatment clinics.

AneVivo as an alternative to IVF?

AneVivo for many couples can become an alternative to IVF, especially if, for world-view reasons, they have not even considered the use of assisted reproductive technology so far. In practice, this may have a real impact on the number of pregnancies among couples who have been unsuccessfully trying to conceive for years, says Czerwiński.

A similar opinion is shared by Martin Velasco from Anecova, thanks to which the method became available in Poland. - AneVivo is the future in infertility treatment. We've been working on this method for years, eventually giving our patients a solution that will make it possible to undergo assisted reproductive therapy in the most natural way possible, '' she says.

The first child with AneVivo is expected in Gyncentrum next year, announces the clinic.

The first Polish pregnancies AneVivo

After Great Britain and Spain, Poland can also boast of the first pregnancies conceived thanks to the AneVivo method. Couples who were the first in the country to decide to undergo treatments using this solution are just expecting a baby (this is the 2nd and 3rd month of pregnancy) - announced in December 2016 representatives of the clinic where future parents are treated.
