Dumplings are flour products and are made by gluing a thin, flexible dough from various types of flour: wheat (most often), rice, buckwheat, corn and rye with the addition of eggs, water, yeast and fat.

The dough for dumplings must be flexible and very well prepared so that the dumplings are soft after cooking. Thin pieces of dough - divided into squares or cut out with a mold - are filled with various stuffing: meat, cheese, vegetables and fruit, then put on top of each other and glued together, and finally cooked.

Dumplings with cabbage and mushrooms

Dumplings stuffed with s alty stuffing prepared from sauerkraut, dried mushrooms and onions. Mushrooms should be soaked in water beforehand, boil the cabbage. Then grind the mushrooms and cabbage. In a frying pan, fry the onion, add the minced mushrooms and cabbage, season with s alt and pepper, mix thoroughly. Serve with fried onion or pork scratchings.

Dumplings with spinach

Stuffing for dumplings is made of spinach, garlic, onion, feta, cottage cheese, tofu or ricotta. First, fry the onion in a pan, add garlic and spinach, and stew it until it is solid.

To the spinach prepared in this way, add feta, white cheese, tofu or ricotta, season to taste and mix. The dumplings are served with fried onion, cream or melted butter and garlic.

Dumplings with blueberries

Dumplings stuffed with fresh blueberries should be served with yoghurt, cream, sprinkled with sugar or melted butter.
