Your gallbladder is failing if you are often tired of indigestion, feel heavy in your stomach and keep bouncing back. Change your menu. The diet we offer will help you get rid of your ailments and prevent more serious problems.

Signals such as frequent indigestion, heaviness in the stomach, and constant belching may indicate the formation of concrements in the gallbladder, popularly known asgallbladderor in the bile ducts, i.e. o gallstone disease. It is also indicated by severe pains and attackscolicin the right part of the abdomen, nausea, vomiting,heartburn . Ailments most often occur at night, several hours after a hearty meal of chocolate, egg yolks, cream, fatty meat and cold cuts, as well as fried and baked fat. This is when the gallbladder contracts, releasing as much bile as possible for the digestion of fats. Under the influence of strong contraction, gallstones may shift along with bile, which causes discomfort.

Gallstones of the gall bladder

Initially, when stones begin to form, no symptoms occur. This may take several years. The causes of the disease include: improper diet high in fat, cholesterol, simple sugars, low in fiber and lecithin. Gallstones can also be formed in people who use fasting and drastic slimming treatments. It is also known that a tendency to cholelithiasis often runs in families. So if your relatives have suffered from this condition, make some changes to your diet in advance. Eat regularly, at least 4-5 times a day, preferably every 2-3 hours. Too long intervals between meals promote bile stagnation. Don't forget about a light breakfast. On an empty stomach, the gallbladder does not contain enough bile acids necessary to dissolve cholesterol. Stones may precipitate in the dense, long-lying gallbladder. Prepare meals just before eating, do not store or reheat them. They should be fresh and warm - neither too hot nor too cold. It is recommended to boil it in water or steam and stew it without fat. Frying in fat and baking are prohibited, except baking in foil or parchment. Remember that even the leanest food after absorbing fat fromin the pan becomes difficult to digest, so it causes a strong contraction of the gallbladder walls and an increased outflow of bile.

Supporters of natural medicine recommend two treatments to get rid of gallstones:

- You should drink a tablespoon of linseed oil before dinner. It is best to mix it with 3-4 tablespoons of tomato, carrot or beet juice, season with parsley, dill and herbs. The oil gently stimulates the secretion of bile and the emptying of the gallbladder. It prevents the build-up of bile and the formation of stones.
- You need to drink approx. 1 liter of apple juice (preferably freshly squeezed) every day for 5 days. On the sixth day, after a light supper (around 6 p.m.), drink a glass of warm water with a spoonful of bitter s alt (available at the pharmacy). After 3 hours, drink another glass of the solution, followed by a mixture of 120 g olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

When gallbladder problems worsen

Follow a strict diet for an attack of biliary colic, acute cholecystitis or acute cholangitis.
On the first day you should only drink weak unsweetened tea, boiled water, herbal infusions (chamomile or mint). When you feel better, you can eat thin gruels in water, diluted fruit juices (non-acidic), then small porridges, rusks and mashed potatoes and carrots.
If the acute symptoms subside (after 2-3 days), start adding milk to your meals - 2-3 tablespoons at the beginning. You have to cook them separately,
and then mix them with cooked semolina or mashed potatoes. You can increase the amount of milk every day.
It is also worthwhile to slowly enrich your diet, remembering to introduce no more than 2 new products a day.
Dishes of twice-minced lean poultry meat, boiled and grated vegetables (carrots, beets, celery, parsley), fresh lean cottage cheese, a little cream, stewed apples and fruit and vegetable juices are well tolerated.
Then you can eat high-quality meats, stale bread with a little butter, vegetable soups with small groats (manna, Masuria) and cooked lean meat, e.g. chicken breast in vegetables.

A diet rich in vegetables and fruits will help with gallbladder problems

Enrich the menu with products containing fiber - wholemeal bread, thick groats, cereals, as well as vegetables and fruit (eat at least 50 grams a day).
Recommended: carrots, parsley, spinach, beetroot, lettuce, peeled tomatoes, chicory, watercress and cucumbers, celery, pumpkin, green peas. It is best to eat them raw, seasoned with a little oil or butter.
Not recommended: vegetable disheslegumes, mushrooms, sweet cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kohlrabi, onion, leek, garlic, turnips, radish, swede, as well as fresh cucumbers.
You can eat: ripe and not too acidic fruits, peeled. Berries (blueberries, wild strawberries, raspberries) are best rubbed through a strainer, and the pears are boiled or baked.
Avoid: sour and unripe fruits (gooseberries, currants, cherries).
Use mild spices that aid digestion, such as dill, parsley, dried and fresh herbs (marjoram, lemon balm, mint, tarragon), cinnamon, cloves, lemon juice.

Don't do that
  • Give up cakes with cream and chocolate. 2-3 times a week you can eat a dessert: fruit mousse, jelly, jelly, sponge cake.
  • Don't drink alcohol. You can afford a glass of red wine once a week. It contains polyphenols which, by lowering the cholesterol level in bile, prevent the formation of stones.
  • Give up coffee or limit yourself to a cup a day. Do not drink it on an empty stomach!
  • Strong tea, cocoa and carbonated drinks are also not well tolerated.

What to Avoid for Gallbladder Problems

You must first of all avoid animal fats:

  • Replace cream with yoghurt or kefir.
  • Limit your eating of butter (no more than a tablespoon a day) and eggs (up to 2-3 a week).
  • Fatty cheeses are also inadvisable: yellow, melted and mold cheeses.
  • You can only eat lean poultry meats, sirloin, ham. And from meats: veal, turkeys, chicken, lamb, rabbit, game and lean pork or beef.
  • Eat lean fish at least twice a week (cod, trout, zander, flounder, perch, pike, pollock, hake, roach).
