Boron is an element that plays an important role in the body, although little is said about it. It is far from the famous iron or magnesium or vitamin D in terms of popularity. Where is boron found? We find it in grapes and raisins. Boron deficiency can cause prostate cancer!
Boris an element that is not talked about much. And that's not good - it is necessary for the proper functioning of the body. It can be found in many plants, but its concentration is not always sufficient. Boron is responsible, among other things, for the proper secretion of hormones in the body, but not only. Check what properties boron has and whether it needs supplementation.
Bor - appearance
Boron can be found in many plants, because boron in the form of borax, i.e. the sodium s alt of boric acid, is present in mineral fertilizers. And from there it gets to the plants.Bor can be found in:
- dates,
- legumes,
- grapes,
- pears,
- avocado,
- apples,
- peaches,
- honey,
- olives,
- oat bran.
We can also find it in dried fruits and nuts. Usually, our daily diet is enough for our body to have the right level of boron. And this is important, although much is not said about Bora.

Boron is a very important mineral. It is responsible for many processes that take place in our body, including:
- improves memory and concentration,
- alleviates allergic reactions,
- alleviates menopausal symptoms,
- removes toxins from the body,
- supports the building of muscle tissue,
- supports the immune system,

Boron also has antibacterial, fungicidal and antiviral properties and prevents excessive accumulation of fluoride in the body by effectively removing its excess.
Boron can heal connective tissue diseases, arthritis, help fight obesity and periodontitis, prevent cardiovascular disease, and a diet rich in boron prevents skin aging.
Boron supplementation is used in the following cases:
- too high LDL cholesterolin the blood,
- low calcium, i.e. in the case of osteoporosis,
A safe dose of boron for adults is 20 mg. This element is quickly removed from the body. Boron supplementation in children is not recommended. Interestingly, traditional French cuisine provides about 36 mg of boron per day.
Bor - deficiency symptoms
Symptoms of boron deficiency are not always obvious. Since boron conditions the work of many systems in our body, the symptoms of its deficiency may be:
- pain in bones, muscles and joints,
- bone demineralization,
- osteoporosis,

Of course, these are the extreme effects of a boron deficiency. Usually, our diet includes products that provide boron in the right dose.
Bor - overdose and contraindications
Boron is quickly cleared from the body and it is difficult to overdose on it if you do not take boron supplements. Theoretically, we are talking about an overdose of boron in the event of a sudden intake of 100 mg of boron. Symptoms of boron overdose include abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, anxiety, convulsions … Boron is not stored in the body, so it is very difficult to overdose it.
People with cancer should be careful about boron, because boron can behave like estrogen, which is important especially in cancers of the reproductive organs in women and endometriosis.
