  • potato dumplings - prepared from boiled potatoes, wheat or potato flour or both, eggs and s alt. Sweet potatoes can be an alternative to potatoes.
  • lazy dumplings(or lazy dumplings) - they are prepared in a similar way to potato dumplings, with cottage cheese added to the mass. Lazy dumplings can also be prepared without potatoes: with cottage cheese, eggs, flour and, optionally, sugar.

Potato dumplings can also be enriched with vegetables, giving them a characteristic color, e.g. spinach, baked pumpkin, beetroot and carrots. You can also add basil.

Dumplings - are they he althy?

Dumplings are mainly a source of carbohydrates, thereforepotato dumplingsare a great complement to main courses (they act as a starch addition).

The potato dumplings cover the demand for minerals and vitamins to a small extent. In potato dumplings, phosphorus, potassium and copper are the most abundant. In potato dumplings you can also find vitamin B6 and vitamin C.

Lazy dumplings with cottage cheese are a source of calcium, phosphorus, vitamin B2, vitamin E and vitamin A.

Potato dumplings have the lowest contentfat than lazy dumplings with cheese.

The most caloric dumplings are lazy dumplings with cottage cheese. However, it is the calorific value of the dish itself, which is usually eaten with often caloric side dishes.

Dumplings with the addition of vegetable-based sauces and lazy dumplings with fruit or fruit mousse will be the least caloric.

Avoid dumplings with added sugar, cream or butter-fried breadcrumbs - these products will increase the caloric value of the dish.
