I have a question about my mother (62). Over 10 years ago, during / after surgery to remove an ovarian cyst, she had a pulmonary embolism. She survived and recovered. He is currently not taking any medication for this anymore. She is due to have a cervical biopsy in a few days. Minor (as it seems to me) surgery under anesthesia. My question is, is it safe for her or is it more risky than other "he althy" women? Could another blockage arise or do the two things have nothing to do with each other? She had two such biopsies in the last few years and was always the most "sick" person in the room after such surgery. Maybe it's better without anesthesia, but only anesthesia? I am very stressed. Thank you for your reply.
Cervical biopsy is a procedure with a low risk of complications, including embolism, it can be performed under local anesthesia, which additionally minimizes the risk of complications.
Biopsy - types of biopsy and course
Endometrial biopsy (uterine mucosa) - indications for the procedure
Breast biopsy, i.e. precise diagnosis of changes in the breast
