In June this year I was diagnosed with MS on the basis of MRI photos and symptoms of slight paresis of the limbs on the left side. After hospitalization, everything returned to normal, no symptoms of the disease. Then the MR image showed two foci - one 11 mm, the other 6 mm in the left hemisphere and one smaller in the right. In early December, I did the MR again and it turned out that there is one focus in the left hemisphere and one in the right hemisphere. Is it possible that the focus that caused the paresis (as doctors say) disappears, and if it has become invisible, what does it mean?
First of all - since we are dealing with relapsing-remitting MS, immunomodulating treatment is recommended, e.g. with inteferon or glatiramer acetate. I suggest contacting a clinical center - e.g. in Łódź or Bydgoszcz. However, it is difficult for me to comment on the description of head MRI - the assessment is individual and largely depends on the radiologist's assessment, which is subjective. The area of demyelination initially undergoes an active inflammatory process, which "dies out" over time - the lack of contrast enhancement corresponds to this. To sum up - the cake does not disappear.
