You can learn kitesurfing abroad, e.g. in Egypt, Brazil, Vietnam, but also in Poland on the Hel Peninsula or the Puck Bay. The prices for a two-week kitesurfing course range from PLN 800 to several thousand, depending on whether we choose individual or group classes.

What is kitesurfing?

Kitesurfing is a type of surfing classified as extreme water sports. It resembles windsurfing, but differs from it in the technique and method of leading the board. You can call it kite-gliding.

Kitesurfing is practiced both on rivers and in seas and oceans. Standard water kitesurfing is divided into two types: winter - snowkiting and land - landkiting. The board in kitesurfing is controlled using a bar - a bar with ropes attached to the kite, and the board is equipped with footstraps, i.e. fixings for inserting the foot.

What does learning kitesurfing look like?

Learning to kitesurf begins with choosing the right type of course - group or individual. A single course takes approximately two hours.

Kitesurfing is quite a physically demanding activity and a large dose of knowledge,so a few hours of one-time study is more than enough. The entire basic kitesurfing course takes about two weeks.

Lessons start with theoretical issues related to swimming lessons, hazards and basic safety rules. The practical learning of kitesurfing begins with swimming on the most convenient surface. The water reservoir should be large, and the starting point should be empty, and the water should be shallow and the bottom sandy, so as not to injure your body and avoid serious injuries.

In Poland, windsurfing courses are organized more and more often due to the ideal conditions for practicing this water sport. Kitesurfing equipment

Surf gear is divided into board, kite, bar, harness, pump and leash. The key to choosing the right equipment are the bar, the board and the kite: The bar consists of several (usually four or five) lines and Depower straps that regulate the power of the kite and Chicken Loop. This affects the work of the loop that connects the bar with the lines to the belt, i.e. the trapezoid.

Harnesses can be divided into seat harnesses or those fastened to the belt. The kitesurf boards are 1 to 2 meters long and are not buoyant boards. Yes, they do stay afloat, but when we stand directly on them, we start to sink.

Kitesurfing boards have a different shape, displacement and length, and these parameters are selected according to the skills and expectations of the practitioner. The most popular types of boards are divided into Twin-Tip boards - boards that allow you to swim in two directions, and Directional - equipment that is similar to a surfboard. This board is equipped with belts that support the stable contact of the legs with the ground.

A kite is the equipment that drives swimming. Among them we can distinguish: LEI, Bow (bow), C-shape (C-shaped), Hybrid (combination of C-shape with Bow), Delta, Sigma, chamber kite.
