Everyone who decides to learn to ski must realize that they will not master this art in three days or even a week. Unfortunately, novice skiers do not take note of this, and the situation on the downhill runs becomes critical: in Italy, for example, data from ski accidents that happened in the Alps in 1995 and 2000 were compared. It turned out that their number increased 17 times. The situation on the Polish slopes is also getting worse every year.

The ease of carving skis encourages the development of excessive speeds, despite the lack of the necessary experience in skiing. Ski safety in 7 steps
So that your ski holiday doesn't end in hospital:
- take some time to dry mortar before you leave;
- buy equipment only with a specialist. Before buying, specify what you expect, then define your skills and parameters (weight, height);
- Do not carry uncovered skis on your car when you go skiingthe roof. S alt and sand particles may damage plastic components of the bindings;
- regardless of your skill level and route choice - always wear a helmet;
- before the first descent, take a moment to warm up;
- adjust your speed to snow and weather conditions;
- abide by the international ski code.

- Behave in such a way as not to threaten anyone and not to cause any harm.
- Control your speed and the way you drive. Move around so that you can stop or turn if necessary.
- Choose a lane where you will avoid any possibility of collision with the skier below on the slope.
- You can overtake on all sides, but only in such a distance that provides the other skier with space for all his maneuvers.
- A skier who enters the downhill road or wants to move again after stopping, is obliged to check, looking up and down the slope, whether he can do it without endangering himself or others.
- Only if absolutely necessary, you can stop in places of narrowings and poor visibility. After a fall, the skier must leave the track as quickly as possible.
- The skier may only descend or ascend along the edge of the route, and in the event of poor visibility he should leave the route.
- Each skier is required to obey the signs and signals.
- In the event of an accident, each skier is obliged to help.
- Everyone who is involved in the accident or is a witness to it should provide their personal details.
