Recreation in the bosom of nature is the best way to improve your condition, get some oxygen and relax. What to do so that nothing disturbs the idyll? We advise you on how to prepare for a trip outside the city to protect yourself from mosquitoes, ticks and sunburn.

Even a one-day tripoutside the city allows you to relieve stress, forget about everyday troubles and recharge your batteries. Recreation in the fresh air has a positive effect on he alth. When you move, run or bike, your body gets more oxygen because you breathe faster. In this way, you protect yourself from hypoxia, which is the cause of fatigue, discouragement, deterioration of intellectual performance and reflexes.

The whole organism gains better oxygenation. The circulatory system is stimulated, the blood flows faster and the heart works. Thanks to the oxygen injection, the body can easily cope with the absorption of nutrients and the excretion of metabolic products. Burning faster helps to get rid of extra calories. In addition, you strengthen the immune system, because the production of white blood cells increases.

A stay in the fresh air will make you feel better mentally - the level of endorphins (happiness hormones) will increase, you will return to your daily duties relaxed and de-stressed.

How to dress for the trip?

Think about the right outfit. It must first of all be comfortable, and if you plan to practicesports , choose clothing made of modern (intelligent) breathable fabrics. On the one hand, they keep rain out and maintain a constant body temperature, and on the other hand - they drain moisture to the outside.

Uncomfortable shoes can spoil your best-planned trip. It is better not to risk a new pair, it is safer to take those that have already been tested. Forwalkscomfortable, leather or fabric sports shoes will suffice. However, if you go jogging, special running shoes will be useful - they will protect you from overload, contusions and injuries.

Learn to actively relax

Think about what type of physical activity suits you best. The simplest and lightest form isspacer . Walk vigorously, with your back straight, your belly pulled in, lightly waving your arms to the rhythm of your footsteps. Regulara walk strengthens the muscles not only of the legs, but also of the back, abdomen and arms.

If a normal walk is too monotonous for you, tryNordic walking , which is walking with special poles. It forces a straight posture, relieves the joints and the spine. You burn more calories than with a traditional walk, although you get tired less. Additionally, the poles provide good protection against falls.

If you decide tojogging , be sure to warm up before starting your run. If you feel tired, slow down your pace and resume running after a short rest. Do not run on the sidewalks, they are too hard, which is harmful to the joints. The asph alt will be better, and the he althiest way is to run along the paths. In addition to stronger muscles, fitness and a slender figure, you will gain greater bone density. Thebikeis also very popular. Walking at a walking pace improves lung capacity and circulation, strengthens muscles, especially in the legs and pelvic area, and also prevents varicose veins.

Prepare glasses and creams with UV filter

Before leaving, be sure to get a cream with a high sunscreen. You should pay attention to the fact that the preparation protects not only against UVB (SPF) radiation, but also UVA, which is responsible for cancer, wrinkles and discoloration (the PPD index should be as high as possible, preferably 28).

Protect your lips with a special lipstick. Also take sun glasses with a UV filter with you, but bought from an optician, not in a supermarket or at a bazaar. Poor glasses do more harm than no glasses at all, because the pupils dilate to let in more light, and they also absorb more radiation. The best protection is provided by brown, amber, green or gray glasses.

Mosquito repellent

A buzzing and biting company can ruin a dream holiday. It's good to know what mosquitoes don't like. They are scared off by oils: eucalyptus, basil, lavender, mint, lemon, clove. So opt for a deodorant or body lotion with this scent.

Place incense sticks or candles nearby with a deterrent scent or spray a solution of the chosen oil. The scent of vanilla is also effective, you can even use the aroma for cakes. Mosquitoes do not like smoke, so in the evening sit by the fire or barbecue. You can place garden candles.

Mosquitoes like to be in the shade, by the water. If you cannot avoid such places, dress to cover as much as possible. In pharmacies and drugstores you can buy mosquito repellants, they are available in many forms - cream, gel, foam, spray.

For children, choose a preparation specially designed for them.

Ifyou have failed to protect against mosquitoes, take measures to relieve the symptoms of bites. A cold compress will also bring relief. You can also put an onion on the wound - such a compress will have antibacterial, analgesic and antipruritic properties and reduce swelling.

Do not allow the bites to scratch, especially in children - they may become infected. Recently, fluff has been taking its toll, they are everywhere, although until recently they could only be found at shallow waters. Their bites are extremely painful and can cause fever - not only in hypersensitive people.

Massive fluff attack can do great damage - swelling and even pulmonary edema. Children and infants, in particular, need to be protected against them. Among insect repellent preparations, few also affect flies (the manufacturer always indicates it on the packaging).

Stinging insects - do you need to be afraid?

After a bee sting …

Bites by bees, wasps, hornets or bumblebees are less common, but much more painful and dangerous than by common flies and mosquitoes. Hornets sting even unchallenged, while bumblebees rarely, only defending themselves. Most often we are exposed to wasp attacks.

To protect yourself from them, you need to remember about precautionary measures - do not go barefoot, be careful when eating and drinking. Check if a wasp has fallen into the cup or if it is not sitting, for example, on the bun you are eating. Protect food and drink from insects (not only stinging insects), especially sweet ones. Stay calm when a wasp is flying next to it.

After a bee sting, remove the sting with a tweezer. If the insect did not leave a sting (e.g. wasp), disinfect the place, then rub with a soothing agent, apply a cold compress. If the insect has stung in the mouth, breathing problems may arise as a result of the swelling. Call a doctor, in the meantime apply a cold compress to the throat and give cold water to drink.

Beware of ticks!

They carry germs, incl. dangerous Lyme disease spirochetes and encephalitis viruses. In Poland, the common and meadow ticks are the most common. The former mastered deciduous and mixed forests, coniferous forests with dense undergrowth, as well as parks. Likes moisture - just like the meadow tick that inhabits meadows, swampy forests and lake shores.

These sneaky arachnids lie in wait for their host on the outskirts of meadows and forests. They are most active in the morning and in the afternoon (from approx. 3 pm). They can sense a person from a distance of 20 meters, and when they are on their body, they look for places where the skin is thin (under the armpits, knees, groin, behind the ear). They puncture under the skin, injecting an anesthetic substance, so you don't feel pain, that could alert you to his presence. In this way, they can feed for several days, drinking about 2 ml of blood.

Avoid ticks by going for a walk in the afternoon hours. Walk in the middle of the path, stay away from bushes and outskirts. Dress appropriately - long pants, socks, a long-sleeved blouse, a hat - everything is best bright, then it will be easier to spot the insect.

After your return, check the entire body carefully. If you notice a tick that has already been punctured, grab it with e.g. tweezers and remove it with a vigorous movement. Make sure it is fully pulled out. Disinfect the rank and observe the body for several weeks for flu-like symptoms. They may be an infection with encephalitis. You can get vaccinated against this disease. In contrast, erythema often signals an early stage of Lyme disease that needs to be treated quickly. Unfortunately, there is no vaccine for her.
