Zumba layouts are mostly based on Latin American dance patterns, e.g. funky, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, belly dance, flamenco, so zumba gives you the opportunity to learn the basic steps of many dance styles.
To start training Zumba, all you need is a positive attitude and a little persistence, but before signing up for classes, check if Zumba is for you. The advantage of zumba is that the whole body works during training, so the skill that should be mastered at the beginning is the coordination of movements of the arms, legs and hips. With Asia from the Baila Conmigo school, you will learn the steps and hand movements for the MERENGUE system.

Zumba steps for beginners (merengue)
1. Start by walking in place. Raise your legs high, bend your arms at the elbows and move them rhythmically. Take turns putting your left and right leg sideways.
2. Bend your knees slightly and shift your weight from left to right as you gently jump from one leg to the next and twirl your hips rhythmically.
3. Squat - keep your legs wide apart, knees loose. Tighten your stomach, pinch your buttocks together and do some squats to the beat of the music. Make sure your knees are pointing outwards.
Above are only the basic leg arrangements in merengue. In the video, the instructor also shows the hand movements that need to be added to each step.
Steps already mastered? Now dance the whole arrangement faster and to the music!
