Who is the Paris diet for?
Paris dietis intended for the so-called diet drug addicts: people who are on an eternal diet trying to get rid of excess weight unsuccessfully, as well as for those who have managed to lose weight, but have fallen victim to the yo-yo effect and, consequently, regained all the lost kilograms, and additionally gained a few more. People who intend to lose weight and want to avoid weight fluctuations can also go on the Paris diet.
Rules of the Parisian diet
The goal of the Paris Diet is to get "Right Weight", which is what "you can achieve without fear that you will start putting back extra weight when you return to your normal eating habits." Hence, the duration of your weight loss treatment depends on the difference between your current weight and your target weight. On average, Dr. Cohen's Paris diet slimming treatment lasts 2 months, during which you go through three phases of losing weight: Café, Bistro and Gourmet.

The three stages of the Parisian diet
Faza Café(optional)
The "cafe" phase is intended ONLY for he althy people, as it imposes a very strict dietary regime. Therefore, you DO NOT HAVE to start the Parisian diet with the Cafe phase, but go straight to the Bistro phase.
The Café Phase lasts 8-10 days, during which you only provide your body with 700-800 kcal per day. Thanks to this, the weight loss rate is very fast, amounting to approx. 0.5 kg per day. During this stage of losing weight, you should eat low-calorie meals, preferably in the form of soups, smoothies and purees. It is also necessary to take multivitamins and magnesium to avoid fatigue, mental crisis and physical discomfort such as muscle cramps.
IMPORTANT! After the Café phase, it is inadvisable to return to your normal diet as this may result in a yo-yo effect. If you decide to start your Paris diet with the Café phase, then go straight to the Bistro phase afterwards. If you feel unable to continue with the Café phase, you may proceed to the Bistro phase.
Bistro phase
The Bistro phase is quick and slightly less restrictive than the Café phase as the daily number of calories you provide to your body ranges from 900 to 1000. In this phase you will lose 3.5 to 5 kg in 2-3 weeks thanks to meals rich mainly in protein and fiber. During this stage of losing weight, you should also take multivitamins and magnesium.
The Bistro phase includes three types of menus that you can alternate over the course of 3 weeks of the diet in order to break the monotony. You can also change the menu ingredients to your liking, using Dr. Cohen's list of substitutes.

Gourmet phase The "gourmets" phase should be used until the target body weight is achieved (on average, this is a month). According to Dr. Cohen, "this phase was designed to satisfy the palate." For this purpose, the dietitian has developed 5 different styles of menus (Gourmet: Classic, Potato, Pasta, Sandwich, Vegetarian). Therefore, you will find products that are commonly considered to be fattening, but during the Gourmet phase you still provide your body with a small amount of calories (on average 1100-1200 kcal per day) - all through minimal portions of food. Just like in the Bistro phase, you can lose between 3.5 and 5 kg. CHECK>>WHAT CAN YOU EAT in Phase 3 of the Paris Diet?
Dr. Cohenemphasizes that it is important to use common sense and moderation, both in eating and in restricting it. Therefore, it allows for a moment of weakness where you can be tempted by a burger, nuggets, a slice of pizza or a sandwich from a fast food restaurant. However, she recommends to give up starters and additives, e.g. fries, sweet drinks, and instead of traditional pizza, she recommends choosing a thin crust, preferably vegetarian. After completing the diet, gradually increase the number of so-called full, freely composed meals. As Dr. Cohen explains, a full, freely composed meal is one in which you compose two freely chosen parts (starter, main course), in accordance with the principle "eat what you want", but the third part remains dietary. If you eat more than 2 freely composed meals, you are eating too much and you are on your way to the yo-yo effect. For the first two weeks after completing the diet, follow the Gourmet principles, but you can afford 3 complete, freely composed meals per WEEK. Only after 2 consecutive weeks can you increase this amount to 5. If your Proper Weight has not changed, you can continue to increase the number of meals until you eat 9 free meals and 5 low calorie meals per week from Dr. Cohen's diet plan. According to the dietitian, this is the only way to keep your dream figure after losing weight. If you are ill, consult your doctor or dietitian before switching to the Parisian diet The Parisian diet in the initial stage involves a fairly strict dietary regime, during which you are not able to provide the body with all the necessary nutrients (Dr. Cohen recommends taking magnesium and multivitamin supplements at this stage, and if you are strongly hungry - supplement the diet with a portion steamed vegetables). Therefore, if you suffer from any medical conditions, go to a medical consultation before switching to the Parisian diet (especially if you decide to start your diet from the Café phase). Introduce the doctor to the diet plan and ask if your he alth condition allows it to be used. When losing weight, it is worth being under the constant observation of a doctor or a dietitian. Jean-Michel Cohen is a doctor of medical sciences and currently the most famous nutrition specialist in France. Since 1986 he has been running a multi-specialist obesity treatment center in France. During his medical practice, he helped over30,000 patients struggling with obesity and eating disorders. He is also the man who won the defamation trial against Pierre Dukan in court. Dr. Cohen called the Dukan Protein Diet a "dangerous fantasy" that can lead to serious he alth problems for some patients.
