I have a problem because I am allergic to the decontaminant used in blood sampling, but the lady in the laboratory does not want to use another preparation that I brought, and I cannot change the laboratory. How do I convince a lab technician to use my disinfectant?

You do not mention what symptoms of intolerance appear after using the disinfectant, which makes it difficult to assess the situation. Blood collection is a procedure performed according to strictly defined standards, which do not provide for the use of any equipment brought by the patient. In this case, the behavior of the laboratory technician complies with the regulations. If you develop symptoms at the site of the disinfectant application, you should ask your doctor to evaluate these symptoms. If these are general symptoms that you associate with the local application of the agent, the matter is a bit more complicated, because you also need to analyze the possibility of other allergens being affected. If the doctor confirms that the place of occurrence of the symptoms and their nature can be associated with the disinfectant used, they should be asked to issue a certificate confirming this fact. With the certificate, you should go to the laboratory manager and ask for a blood donation procedure with the use of another disinfectant.
