What can you eat during diarrhea?
Eating a diet during food poisoning is a must. For 1-2 days in acute gastritis usually no food is given. During fasting, it is important to drink enough fluids to prevent dehydration. Low-sweetened drinks at room temperature are recommended, such as tea, chamomile, mint infusion, still water. During the day, we should drink about 2 liters of fluid. It is more advantageous to drink often, but in small amounts.
The introduction of food must be done gradually. First, slowly expand the diet with gruels, which should be made of rice or semolina boiled in water (not milk!) With s alt. If the introduction of this type of food does not cause any undesirable symptoms, we further expand the diet with rusks. Then we can diversify the menu, including, for example, a soft-boiled egg, boiled potatoes, cooked meat. For meats, choose lean and delicate species such as veal, lean poultry, such as skinless chicken or turkey. It is not possible to serve fried or high-fat foods.
In the initial period, you should not eat vegetables and fruits, especially raw and sweet desserts. In a further extension of the menu, you can add a banana or fruit containing a lot of pectin, such as a baked apple, slowly switching to the usual diet. However, for a longer period of time, despite the improvement, and even complete recovery, you should avoid serving canned food, pickles, smoked meat and fish, legumes, cruciferous vegetables, alcohol and spicy spices.
Below is an example of a gruel diet.
First breakfast: oatmeal gruel (40 g), tea, rusks (approx. 50 g).
2nd breakfast: tea, rusk (20 g).
Lunch: barley gruel (50 g), tea, rusks (30 g).
Tea: tea, rusks (20 g).
Dinner: rice gruel (rice 50 g), tea, rusks (30 g).
