I am 57 years old. My blood pressure has unexpectedly risen for a long time, often for no reason up to 140/85 or 150/85. Usually my blood pressure is rather low. When he rises, he feels bad, I need to lie down.

Intermittent blood pressure is a common problem in your age and is sometimes difficult to regulate because it is partly the result of a changing hormone profile. You cite two blood pressure values that are incorrect and if the blood pressure is at least three times higher, there are formal grounds for the diagnosis of arterial hypertension, although some of the measurements may be normal. I would encourage you to perform a certain set of tests that should be done at least once in a lifetime in every patient with arterial hypertension and with the results of going to a doctor. The proposed set of tests includes: morphology, urine general examination and culture, ESR, lipid profile, electrolytes, creatinine, sugar, ECG, heart echo, abdominal ultrasound, and the bottom of the eyes examined by an ophthalmologist. It is quite a long list - you can spread the tests over time, e.g. perform them for 2 - 3 months. Until the possible start of treatment with tablets, I encourage, as always, to a diet containing a lot of vegetables and fruits and avoid / limit dishes preserved with sodium ion (cold meats, cheese, bread, broth cubes, etc.). Groats are allowed, rice - prepared at home - but without bag sauces - cooked white meat. If you follow these dietary recommendations carefully (every day and with every meal!) Your blood pressure will decrease. How do you know this? There are several communities in the world that are unfamiliar with hypertension. All of these communities are unfamiliar with industrially processed food.
