The diet of Dr. Budwig is designed to provide the body with foods rich in, among others, in omega-3 fats, complex carbohydrates, fiber and antioxidants. The basic fat in Dr. Budwig's diet is crude, cold-pressed linseed oil. Dr. Budwig's diet is cheap and apparently easy - apparently, because it requires the exclusion of many ingredients from the diet, incl. sugar is forbidden, including brown sugar, processed products and all oils, margarines and butters.

Dr. Budwig's dietwas developed over 60 years ago for the treatment of cancer and other civilization diseases. Today, it is also considered a way to regain the body's natural strength and cleanse it. Johanna Budwig was a scientist, biochemist. As early as 1951, when the diseases of civilization were not yet properly discussed, she argued that they exist, are dangerous, but can be combated with an appropriate diet. She developed a diet that was appreciated - she was a candidate for the Nobel Prize seven times.

Who is going to help Dr. Budwig's diet?

The diet of Dr. Budwig is an anti-cancer diet. However, as the author herself stated, the principles of nutrition she proposed are also effective in many other chronic and recurring diseases: vascular and gastrointestinal diseases, fatty liver, skin problems, also in multiple sclerosis, parasites and ailments resulting from advanced age. We can successfully include it among low-carbohydrate diets, which are more and more often said to support the treatment of many diseases. They include, among others the scourge of our time - metabolic syndrome, manifested by abdominal obesity, hypertension, abnormal blood lipids and sugar levels.

The diet of Dr. Budwig has a strong cleansing effect. For this reason, it is not recommended during radio- or chemotherapy. It can significantly increase the amount of active toxins, and this could turn out to be too much of a burden for the body.

Dr Budwig diet - rules

The basic principle in Dr. Budwig's diet is the elimination of bad fats. During the first 4 weeks, all animal fats, as well as low-quality vegetable fats (margarines and so-called mixes) are forbidden. According to the author, they are harmful and need to be replaced with easily digestible and assimilable fats in the form of oillinseed, coconut oil, wheat germ oil and occasionally olive oil. These good fats make up the staple ingredient of nutrition. Since, according to Budwig's recommendations, they must be eaten together with good protein, i.e. lean cottage cheese (these two products are combined in various ways), the diet is called an oil-protein diet.

Transitional stage in Dr. Budwig's diet

At the beginning, Dr. Budwig recommends going through the so-called the preliminary stage, the length of which depends on the state of he alth. In seriously ill people who are unable to digest solid food, it lasts several days, even a week. For sick people who can eat, it is 1-2 days, and for moderately sick and he althy people who have no problems with food intake - a day. The transitional stage is a kind of fasting. You only need to eat one type of dish, which is based on the so-called linomel (these are breakfast cereals made of coarsely ground flax seeds with honey dissolved in a small amount of fresh milk or powdered milk (the product can be purchased in he alth food stores, also online). In addition, during the transition period, drink warm teas, freshly squeezed carrot and papaya juice.

Diet of Dr. Budwig - restrictive, but not burdensome

The therapeutic effectiveness of a diet depends on strict adherence to all dietary recommendations, especially the origin of the products (eco!) And the times of eating. The latter condition is considered a disadvantage by many people, because the daily schedule is accurate to the hour. Interestingly, the menu for each day includes … alcohol, which may raise doubts. Dr. Budwig's diet is certainly recommendable - it can be used scrupulously, but also only selected elements of it. Cold-pressed oils, linseed, silage and silage juice, just like home-made kefir, have he alth-promoting properties. If we include them in our daily diet, we will definitely gain better immunity and the digestive system will function more efficiently.
