My Dad was diagnosed with G-1 bladder cancer. The tumor has been excised. Will Dad be hospitalized? Should I continue treatment in urology or is it better in oncology? Is this type of cancer very serious or easy to cure? What tests should be performed to check for metastases?
From your letter I conclude that the entire change has been removed. You haven't given the full histopathological result - how deep is the infiltration. In the case of your father, when we are dealing with a low-grade neoplasm, the likelihood of metastasis at present is negligible. A systematic check-up by a urologist is recommended (every 3-6 months) - control cystoscopy and ultrasound examination to assess whether there is a recurrence of the disease. Unfortunately, bladder cancer has a tendency to recur, and therefore the checks recommended above are necessary.
