I am 17 years old, during a fight I was kicked very hard in the genitals (I wear quite tight jeans, the opponent hit the sneaker straight in the bulge, slightly underneath, in the testicles). I had never been hit there before, the pain was excruciating and surprised me completely. My stomach felt tight, I couldn't breathe, felt a jerk in my stomach and I fell to the ground. I felt so sick that I threw up. It was two days ago, now my testicles don't hurt anymore and I think I'm fine (they're not swollen). Are the above reactions natural reflexes? I've never seen anyone throw up from a kick to the groin, so was my reaction normal or maybe I'm oversensitive or something like that and should see a doctor?
The perineum and testicles are among the most pain-sensitive areas in men. In the course of very severe trauma and pain, a gag reflex may occur. However, due to the site and severity of the injury, it is advisable to consult a urologist. Ultrasound of the testicles may be helpful for a more precise determination of whether there were any consequences of the injury.
