Contact lenses correct various eye defects. Lenses wear shortsighted and farsighted. You can correct astigmatism and squint with them, and progressive lenses are perfect for people in their 40s who have poor vision close. And if someone wants to be hime gyaru - he makes a doll's eyes with colored lenses.

Contact lensescan be worn by most people. But you always have tolenseschoose an ophthalmologist or optometrist. They must perfectly correctvision defectand have parameters taking into account the curvature of the cornea. Which lenses are the best? The doctor always decides about it together with the patient. For hygiene reasons, daily lenses are the most comfortable. They are put on in the morning, taken off and thrown away in the evening. There is no problem with rinsing the lenses and keeping them clean. You just need to make sure that you wash your hands thoroughly before putting on and taking them off.

Lenses for a month

Biweekly or monthly lenses, which are not even removed at night, are very comfortable. Unfortunately, they are not suitable for sensitive eyes, nor can they be worn by people who have any problem with sufficient tears and who often stay in places with a lot of dust. This is because particles stick to the lenses and the natural mechanism of washing the eye with the tear film may not be able to deal with them. To swim with such lenses, you need to wear tightly fitting swimming goggles, and be alert and react to signals coming from your eye. If you experience discomfort, itching, burning or pain in the eye, remove the lenses and rest from them for at least six hours. They should be rinsed before reinsertion, so you should always have lens cleaning and storage fluid, no matter what type of lens you are wearing. If discomfort occurs again after re-insertion, see a doctor. Perhaps our eye is not able to adapt to multi-day lenses and you will need to switch to traditional - reusable or buy one-day lenses.

Important

Who cannot wear contact lenses

There are several contraindications for using contact lenses:

  • inflammation of the eyeball;
  • dry eye syndrome (not always);
  • states of reduced immunity;
  • serious hormonal changes (e.g. during pregnancy and menopause);
  • diabetes;
  • hyperthyroidism;
  • serious allergies;
  • frequent inflammation of the respiratory tract.

Progressive lenses in their forties

The young eye easily and effectively shifts visual acuity from close to far and back. There are also no problems with seeing intermediate distances. The range of accommodation (because this is the name of this eye function) in a child is even 14.0 diopters. After forty, it drops to 2.0-3.0 diopters. The effect is that we see less and less up close. Until recently, people with distorted vision had to use glasses or bifocal lenses, which was quite troublesome because they gave sharp far and near vision, but the intermediate distances were blurred. Then progressive glasses appeared, followed by progressive contact lenses, which mimic the natural accommodation function of the eye and smoothly transition from far vision to near vision, taking into account all intermediate distances. Lenses are selected by a doctor. The first set is usually a trial set and is included in the price of the visit, because it happens that the parameters have to be changed and re-adjusted so that we have the comfort of wearing. Wearers of such lenses assure that even if the first attempts are difficult, the lenses later turn out to be great and make life easier.

Doll's eye

We wear contact lenses not only for better vision. You can also look better thanks to them, or at least look different. Thanks to the Japanese subculture of princesses Hime Gyaru, the eyes of the doll have become fashionable. They are modeled not only with makeup, but also with special contact lenses that enlarge the iris. They should be transparent in the center, where the pupil is, and only enlarge the iris with an additional color ring. Then they are safe. Large princesses choose these magnifying lenses to match the color of their own eyes or change it diametrically, e.g. to black. When wearing cosmetic lenses, you should follow the same hygiene rules as when wearing corrective lenses.
