After washing, the skin should be thoroughly dried, especially skin folds, to prevent the skin from fluffing. Another risk is burns, which occur when the skin folds stick together and the skin between them is wet. Burns are easy to spot because the skin is red, itchy or stinging, sometimes it even hurts. To avoid this, the patient should wear light pajamas or cotton underwear. Because nappy rash usuallyappear in the groin, between the buttocks, they should be washed with chamomile infusion or water with potassium permanganate. If the patient is obese, the skin folds on the abdomen must be rubbed with talcum powder.
