- Influencers instead of celebrities. Bloggers and youtubers more and more attractive to marketers
Influencer, youtuber, vloger - you don't know what these words mean? No wonder - the pace at which the internet is growing is rapid. From a medium enabling quick access to information and contact with other people, it has become a place where you can not only show yourself (your creativity, but also everyday life), but also make a good profit on it. Even professions specific to the Internet have emerged. So read who's who on the internet and learn how to distinguish an influencer from a Youtuber and a vlogger.
Influencer, youtuber, trendsetter, vloger - each of these professions is a separate entity, but they can be combined through various social media and other forms of expression (e.g. photo, video). Check what exactly is going on!
1. Influencer
There are probably not many people operating in social media who would not want to become an influencer, i.e. with the English "influencer" (to influence - to influence someone / something). Unfortunately, it is not that easy, because the influencer must already have a large group of followers, i.e. people who follow his account and trust him. Being his, you might say, you could say fans who would like to imitate him, will listen to his advice.
It is enough for an influencer to add, for example, a photo of their favorite drink or recommend a specific make-up cosmetic, and their producer can thus gain better advertising than if they chose more traditional forms. The more so because influencers are followed by people who feel connected with them in some way: views, passions or even a similar family situation.
Influencers work primarily on Instagram - that's where you can show a product the easiest way - with a photo, but also on YouTube, when they talk about specific products, they present their effects in their videos. YouTube is a great platform to present, for example, video games, cosmetics, and even books ( although the latter are the most difficult to earn).
Selfies: why do we like to take them and how to take them well?
Hejt, or hate speech on the Internet
Emoticons: what do they mean and how do they influence the messages we send?
The desire to become an influencer is so great that some people take out a loan,to be able to present nice things on the Internet (which they cannot afford yet). They also buy fake accounts of "people" (or rather bots) who follow them. This was the case of a Polish woman - Dominika, who announced an online collection to pay "for her youth's mistakes" in the amount of PLN 30,000 for a loan to become an influencer.
According to research by emarketer1 , as many as 9 out of 10 world opinion leaders use Instagram as a marketing tool. The influencers themselves present the products most often - in over 55% of cases - via Insta Stories (i.e. available on their profiles for 24 hours after publishing the videos).
Until recently, the most followed person on Instarama was Selena Gomez with 144 million followers (Selena in the photo below). However, Cristiano Ronaldo overtook her.
Worth knowingInfluencers add their content on platforms such as:
Instagram- social network where photos / videos are added, with short comments. Contrary to appearances, however, not only lovers of interior design or users of cosmetics, but also people active in culture, for example, find their way there.
YouTube- a website that allows you to add various types of videos.
TikTok- the favorite platform of teenagers, which has gained enormous popularity in recent years. The 15-second videos posted there are watched by millions. The most popular Polish woman - Kinga Sawczuk already has over 4 million followers on TikTok.
Snapchat - an application that allows you to add videos and photos that disappear from it after 10 seconds after receiving them on the user's phone. Movies placed in My Story can be watched for 24 hours from adding by their author. Snapchat is also famous for all kinds of filters that can be added to photos.
2. Youtuber
Youtuber is the next version of the online profession. The name is obviously taken from a popular movie site. On YouTube, you can not only listen to music or watch a movie, but also record a video yourself, comment on the added content (social, political, pop culture - all kinds). There are channels run by adepts of fitness, computer games, makeup specialists, reading books, sports - anything you can think of.
Funny videos produced by independent stars of the website - YouTubers - are of particular interest. Usually, they do not talk about anything special - they comment on matters that are important to them, talk about their lives, take part in various challenges (e.g. ice bucket challenge, put on 100 layers ofmakeup or - extremely dangerous and inadvisable - try to deal with closed eyes like Sandra Bullock in "Bird Box"). Pranks, or "pranks,", or pranks of making fun of other people, are also popular. These jokes are intended to cause them terror, surprise, and, less often - amusement.
While Instagram is dominated by women, men earn the most on Youtube. Although the latter may be too much said - in 2022, according to the Forbes ranking, the YouTuber who made the most was 7-year-old boy Ryan2 , who reviews toys on his channel. Last year, he got $ 22 million. But the top Instagram influencer - Kylie Jenner3from the famous Kardiashanek family - gets up to $ 1 million for publishing one sponsored post.

3. Vloger
Vloger is quite an old profession. Of course, compared to an Instagram or YouTube influencer. Some of the vloggers are also youtubers or instagramers (if they publish on these channels). A vlogger is simply a person who places his videos on the internet. So a blogger is someone who writes, while a vlogger - shoots a video.
Vloggers usually talk about their everyday life - interests, how they spend their time. You don't need any specialized studio or skills to be a vlogger - most of them just shoot at home on the couch. The first most popular Polish vlogger was SA Wardęga, whose famous movie "Mutant Giant Spider Dog" was watched by January 2022 over 176 million times. Sylwester Wardęga has 3.4 million followers (as of January 2022), he was overtaken by Blowek (4 million followers). The latter adds content such as "Dog's reaction to a mock death", "I dyed my mom pink", Minecraft game report.
4. Blogger
Which is an internet veteran profession. Before pictures and videos gained popularity, bloggers ruled the Internet. A blog is a form of an online diary, and the person writing it is a blogger. The subject of the blog can be any, often the entries are more substantive than movies or photos - after all, you can add footnotes, quotes, comments from other creators to the text. This does not mean, however, that the content on blogs cannot be light, as exemplified by Maffashion or Jessica Mercedes, who started running an online blog.
Influencers instead of celebrities. Bloggers and youtubers more and more attractive to marketers
Ambassadors helpcreate a positive atmosphere around the advertised brand. Today, internet influencers are increasingly used in this role, displacing stars and celebrities, especially in campaigns targeting younger generations of consumers. The key to success, however, is to choose a blogger or YouTuber that perfectly matches your brand image.
