There are, however, breeds among dogs that are especially gentle to humans and easy to groom. This is especially important for inexperienced people who have small children at home.

Golden retriever

The breed of these dogs is distinguished by great intelligence and a gentle character. These dogs rarely bark and are very emotionally balanced and full of energy that is best spent on long walks. Golden Retrievers are very attached to the owner and most willingly do not leave him alone, they also require his constant attention. Due to their innate gentleness, they are perfect as family dogs, as well as companions for the elderly and the sick.

However, they require long hair that needs to be brushed several times a week, and drooping ears.

These dogs weigh 25-38 kg and live 10-12 years.

Labrador Retriever

Labradors are perfect family dogs - they are easy to lay and very child-friendly. Preferably, they would accompany people everywhere. They are curious and very loyal to humans. They have a calm personality and are very balanced, contributing to maintaining harmony among the household members.

In the past, Labradors were bred as hunting dogs, so every new owner should remember about their need for exercise and challenges. They like work very much, which is why they are also perfect as police dogs or as guides.

In terms of size, the Labrador is a medium breed. Males usually reach 56-57 cm at the withers and females 45-56 cm. They come in three beautiful colors: black, yellow (biscuit) and brown (liver).

These dogs weigh 29-33 kg and live 12-14 years.

Poodle

Poodles are open-minded and friendly dogs, perfectly suited as a human companion. They are empathetic, have a gentle disposition, and react calmly to strangers. They are also distinguished by intelligence (in this respect they are the leadersin all rankings). They learn very quickly but require attention. Moreover, they love to be the center of attention!

Poodles come infour sizes :

  • large poodle (king) - height at withers 45-60 cm,
  • medium poodle - height at withers 35-45 cm,
  • miniature poodle - height at withers 28-35 cm,
  • Toy poodle - height at withers less than 28 cm.

Unfortunately, this breed is characterized by diseases of the joints and eyes, very often leading to blindness.

These dogs, depending on the breed, live evenover 15 years.

Airedale Terrier

It's a dog that will go anywhere with you! He is exuberant, not timid, but also knows how to behave. Like any terrier, he is stubborn and very intelligent - this makes him dictate his own conditions at times. It is a dog for active people, learns quickly and is very friendly. She especially likes children. Unfortunately, he has a hunting instinct, so it's worth considering before keeping another pet at home, e.g. a cat or a hamster.

The hair of dogs of this breed should be trimmed regularly - thanks to this, it retains its natural glow. Dogs reach 59 cm at the withers. They like exercise and will enjoy jogging, cycling and other activities. This is not a dog for lazy people!

These dogs weigh 18-29 kg and live 10-12 years.

Boxer

Boxers are considered to be uncomplicated characters, friendly towards people and willingly accompanying him. They love children, they are patient, balanced and calm. It is important for a boxer that his teacher is calm, relaxed and friendly with him. The dog is perfect for inexperienced people.

Unfortunately, boxers tend to deform joints, hip dysplasia, arthrosis or spondylosis. They are also more likely to suffer from heart disease and cancer. They are square in shape, which means that the length of their body corresponds to the height at the withers.

These dogs weigh 25-32 kg and live for 10-12 years.

Shih Tzu

Shih Tzu is open and friendly towards people and other animals, seems to be more like a cat than a dog in character, and can be teasing. He loves to play, and his upbringing should be simple with minimal knowledge of the tutor.

Shih Tzu have eye and breathing problems due to their short noses. They also require treatments - you have to go to the hairdresser for a haircut with them!

These dogs weigh 4-7.2 kg and live 12-17 years.
