Alpacotherapy, or therapy with alpacas, is the field of zootherapy. The therapy is based on the cooperation of the therapist and the patient with alpacas, which positively motivate to action, influencing the development of the emotional and cognitive sphere and improving the patient's well-being. Alpacotherapy is used in the rehabilitation of disabled people as a method supporting therapeutic processes. Contact with alpacas, in particular, has a positive effect on children. It takes care of their motor development, supports the building of the child's self-esteem and self-confidence. In addition, the child, by caring for the alpaca, learns empathy and responsibility for the other being. Therefore, it can certainly be said that zootherapy supports educational and social rehabilitation processes.

Alpacotherapyis a therapy supported by the company of alpacas. Calm, delicate disposition and intelligence of these animals are appreciated by therapists and their patients, who thanks to these animals feel much better.

Who is alpacotherapy for?

Alpacotherapy is especially recommended for people with neurosis, anxiety disorders and depression, autism, ADHD and Down syndrome. It also supports the development of children who have emotional problems. Supports people experiencing life difficulties, nervous breakdown or severe stress.

But let's not forget that alpacotherapy is also directed to all those who are simply hungry for contact with this extremely pleasant animal.

Why alpacas?

Alpacas are animals of a calm and gentle nature. They are not aggressive, which is why they arouse so much sympathy, especially among children. They are intelligent and curious about their surroundings, and they learn easily at the same time. Their fur is very soft and pleasant to the touch, which is hypoallergenic, which is an additional advantage for allergy sufferers.

Their charming appearance makes it impossible not to smile, and their positive disposition is perfect for improving human development, which is why alpacas are more and more often used during therapy.

Alpacotherapy cannot be used as an independent method of treatment, but as a support for specialist therapy.

Where in Poland you can benefit from alpacotherapy?
