Headache in front - migraine
One of the more common causes of frontal headache is migraines. These types of headaches can last anywhere from 4 to 72 hours. They are characterized by the fact that the pain is pulsating and typically one-sided.
Pain in this case is usually accompanied by various other symptoms, such as:
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- or photophobia.
Patients may also struggle with migraine aura.
Headache in front - tension headache
The headache in front may appear in those who struggle with tension headaches. It is typical for the individual that the pain associated with him or her is dull and oppressive. It is not uncommon for patients who suffer from this ailment to have the impression that a headband is squeezing their head.
Pain in the course of tension headaches lasts from several to several hours. It is also characteristic that, apart from pain, patients do not complain of any other ailments.
Headache in front - eye diseases
Various eye diseases can cause headaches in the front. The most common problem is seen in people with visual impairments and in patients suffering from glaucoma.
In case of visual impairment it is painfulthe head is predisposed by farsightedness. People who have an uncorrected defect and, for example, read a lot or work at the computer may complain of frequent headaches.
In patients with glaucoma, the headache in the front part of the head may be accompanied by other ailments, such as:
- photophobia,
- watery eyes,
- nausea,

Front headache - sinus diseases
Another possible cause of frontal headache is sinus disease. With sinusitis, patients may experience a headache in the front of the sinus, which becomes worse when tilting, and is usually throbbing or distressing.
Typically, in the case of a disease, there are additional ailments, such as:
- stuffy nose,
- fever,
- or weakness.
Front headache - brain tumors
One of the rarer, but also possible causes of frontal headache is neoplastic diseases of the central nervous system. Headaches associated with the occurrence of a brain tumor in a sick person quite often appear in the morning.
In addition, it may happen that the pain will wake the patient from sleep. It is also characteristic that the pain is quite often accompanied by nausea.
Headache can be equated with the cause of brain tumors when it is accompanied by a sudden, significant change in the patient's behavior (which can occur when a cancerous change occurs in the frontal lobes of the brain).
Front headache - subarachnoid hemorrhage
Another rare but possible cause of pain in the front of the head is subarachnoid haemorrhage. In his case, the headache is usually so severe that patients say it is the strongest pain they have experienced in their lives.
This pain appears suddenly and is accompanied by other serious ailments, such as :
- disturbance of consciousness,
- movement disorders,
- or visual disturbances and speech disorders.

Front headache treatment
The most important thing about frontal headaches is to find out what the cause is. As evidence, a situation in which the patient takes large amounts of painkillers, and in fact the symptoms subside, it would be enough to use spectacle correction for the existing vision defect.
This is why proper diagnosis is really crucial - only then can you choose the right one for youthe patient's treatment, e.g. :
- in the case of migraines, drugs from the triptan group are used, as well as measures reducing the risk of a migraine attack (such as, for example, valproic acid),
- sinusitis is treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs,
- Tension headaches are treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
