Herbs are recommended especially in the fight against ailments that do not necessarily require medical intervention, but hinder normal functioning. When you are pregnant, use herbs when your ailments are troubling and you don't want to give yourself and your baby a dose of chemicals.
Waiting for the birth of a child should be a period of special care for he alth - it is important for both the mother and the baby. It is best to avoid taking any medications then, but this is not always possible. It is worth replacing typical medications -with herbs . They are usually less drastic than other agents, and the side effects they can cause are much weaker. Herbs are used especially in ailments that do not necessarily require medical intervention, but hinder normal functioning. Herbal medicines can be used inpregnancyeven with such serious problems as imminent miscarriage, high blood pressure or problems that arise during childbirth. However, in such situations, only a doctor can recommend them.
Ailments in pregnancy
Heartburn
Forheartburnyou will need an infusion of meadowsweet herb (anti-acid), a cold decoction of marshmallow root, as well as a decoction of licorice root.
Nausea
They are one of the earliest felt ailments during pregnancy. Herbs are then useful to aid digestion (including the functioning of the liver), as well as relaxing and calming. An infusion of chamomile and alfalfa will be helpful. An excellent remedy against nausea is also ginger root, available in almost every vegetable store (an excellent addition to salads), also candied - you can eat it like candy.
Anxiety, insomnia
You can reach for an infusion of valerian or lemon balm (a teaspoon per glass of boiling water - preferably before going to bed). Passion flower herb (Latin Passiflora incarnata), available at any pharmacy in the form of extracts, also helps. Less common, but extremely effective is the lateral scarlet fever. You can also apply lavender and rosemary aromatic oils before going to bed by adding them to your bath or sprinkling them on your pillow.
Back pain
You can use aromatic oil baths - add 5-6 drops of lavender or rosemary oil to the bathtub. Similarlymassages with chamomile oil or with the addition of geraniums help.
Muscle cramps
During muscle contractions, we take a decoction of the bark of the viburnum viburnum, which has a relaxing effect. The infusion of meadowsweet, horsetail and hawthorn is also helpful.
ImportantExtract, infusion, decoction, decoction
Herbs are taken in various forms, depending on the part of the plant used (root, herb), and the availability of ready-made products on the market. As for the finished forms, they can be tinctures, juices or extracts stabilized with ethanol. When you have dried raw material at your disposal, you prepare an infusion or a decoction for leaves and flowers, and a decoction of the root or bark. To obtain an infusion, pour a teaspoon of raw material with a glass of boiling water and leave it for a few minutes. You can prepare more of it in a thermos flask. A decoction is made when you pour boiling water over the herbs and boil them briefly. You get the decoction by pouring a teaspoon of herbs in cold water and bringing it to a boil, and then simmering over low heat for about 15 minutes.
Constipation
This ailment is cured by a proper diet (rich in fiber, i.e. with a lot of vegetables, fruit and whole grain bread) supported by linseed: pour 150 ml of hot, boiled water over a tablespoon of seeds and leave for 30 minutes. The soaked linseed should be eaten 3 times a day with water. During the day, it is worth drinking chamomile, alfalfa or a decoction of dandelion root.
Hemorrhoids
Herbal medicine recommends topical application (in the form of washing or tampons) infusions or extracts of marigold, witch hazel, arnica and comfrey. A moisturizing cream with extracts of horse chestnut fruit, marshmallow herb and witch hazel bark will be perfect.
Anemia
It is an ailment in which (of course, after consulting a doctor), it is worth supporting the proper diet with herbs such as nettle, alfalfa, dandelion and curly sorrel root, as well as fresh or dried rosehips.
Stretch marks
It is good to lubricate them with herbal oil with comfrey, chrysanthemum and phyllum oil. Dried herbs (it is important that they are not fresh) pour vegetable oil and set aside in a dark, dry place for 2-4 weeks. After this time, drain the herbs. Apply oil to stretch marks and places where they may appear (1-2 times a day).
Before giving birth
Every mom expecting a baby will be better prepared for childbirth if she uses raspberry infusion (Note: in the last trimesterpregnancy!) and evening primrose seed oil, containing prostaglandin precursors and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Then both the uterine muscle will be well prepared for contraction action (raspberry), and the cervix will be more susceptible to stretching (evening primrose oil).
