Although this winter was quite mild, we say goodbye to it with relief. But there are people who are reluctant to think about early spring - meteoropaths. This is the worst time for them, as is late fall. The changing weather typical of these seasons has a negative effect on their well-being.

It is estimated that every third person living in our latitude reacts with symptoms toweather- women 3-4 times more often than men, which is related to the monthly hormonal changesin their body. Sensitivity to weather increases with age and… with carcass (people withoverweightare more susceptible to ugly aura than slim people). But the more optimistic and toughened a person is, the less problems he has with the changing situation outside the window.

The weather triggers or intensifies ailments

The effect of the weather on well-being is a fact and the shepherd prediction of rain on the basis of breaking in his bones is right! We don't get sick because of the weather - it only triggers or worsens our symptoms. The changing aura affects the parameters and functions of the organism that are important for life, including on the number of red and white blood cells, hemoglobin concentration, blood pressure and volume, blood supply to the brain, heart rhythm, hormone secretion, body temperature, liver and kidney function, muscle tone. We ourselves are responsible for falling into meteoropathy, because we are too far from nature. That is why we have difficulty adapting to the vagaries of the aura, we are less and less hardened, and more and more prone to catching any infections.

Advice for meteoropaths

  • Improve your physical condition - exercise regularly and spend as much time as possible outdoors, regardless of the weather.
  • Get enough sleep - your body needs at least 6 hours of sleep a day to recover properly.
  • Take care of your diet - enrich your daily menu with vitamins and microelements that have a good effect on the nervous system (including magnesium, B vitamins).
  • Limit drinking strong tea and coffee - they sensitize the nervous system; replace them with mineral water, fruit and vegetable juices.
  • Harden yourself - visit the sauna, take alternating cold and warm showers in the morning, end with a cold one.
  • Listen to music - even after a stormy day, your favorite tunes will soothe your frayed nerves and improve yourmood.
  • Stay in well-lit rooms - lots of warm light on a dark day helps you relax.
  • Surround yourself with optimistic people, with them it is easier to bear weather ailments.

The influence of the weather on heart and stomach problems

When the weather changes, the ailments related to chronic diseases intensify, incl. with ulcerative, cardiovascular, rheumatism, asthma. People with these conditions may try to alleviate the adverse effects of the aura. During the passage of the atmospheric fronts, the body should not be overloaded with effort - both physical and mental. Cardiacs should avoid strong emotions, and ulcers should take care of a proper diet. Herbs are also helpful, they soothe the nervous system, make it easier to fall asleep, help to cope with stomach ailments (e.g. valerian root, hop cones, passion flower and lemon balm herb).

Important

Marek Majcher, expert in biometeorological issues : There is currently no research on which geographical regions of Poland are better and which are worse from the point of view of meteoropathy. Additionally, it should be noted that the variability of the weather is associated with a number of somatic diseases (cardiological, neurosis, depression, asthmatic, rheumatological). There are many people who are not typical meteoropaths, and due to the fact that they have other diseases - they constitute a large group susceptible to weather stimuli. In the climatic conditions of Poland, the whole year can give us a hard time. Longer maintenance of a stable aura is unique and therefore Poles have the right to complain about the weather, or rather about its great variability. Statistically, the worst in this respect is March, when the number of atmospheric fronts passing through Poland is the highest (additionally also part of February and April). The second period negatively perceived by meteoropaths is November and December (the time of the so-called fall depression) due to a sudden and significant shortening of the day, as well as more frequent pressure fluctuations and increased amount of rainfall. However, this is not a rule - November last year was one of the more weather-stable months, and this time it was not possible to complain about the last autumn.

How do we react to highs, lows and storms

We feel best when it starts to clear up after the low and during the first 7-10 days of the boom. Unfortunately, there are few such days in a year. We are much more exposed to the adverse effects of the weather. When the weather fronts pass (there are about 140 days in a year), the number of suicides, heart attacks increases, gastric ulcer bleeding, headaches and migraines appear.Accidents are more frequent - road accidents, when working at high altitudes. Most of them are observed 24 hours before the advent of the front. This period is also favorable for childbirth. On the other hand, windy lows intensify rheumatic pains, asthma symptoms, and already raise high blood pressure. The approaching rain increases joint ailments, and when heavy clouds hang just above the ground, allergy-prone people complain of swollen eyelids, itchy eyes and hay fever. In turn, storms cause a feeling of anxiety, circulatory disorders, and make it difficult to concentrate. Due to atmospheric discharges, the amount of positive ions in the air increases, which is bad for your well-being. On the other hand, negative air ionization, which we feel after a storm as exceptionally fresh air, has a very beneficial effect on us.
