Cups were used by our grandmothers to "extract the disease from the body". Vacuum therapy, i.e. cupping, is a great way to treat colds and to mobilize the immune system to fight infection.
You can choose from traditionalglass bubbles(fire) and more modernvacuum bubbles , thanks to which the procedure is easier to perform. It consists in creating a vacuum in the bubble. This pulls the skin inside the capillary and activates two mechanisms that accelerate recovery.
First, nerve receptors in the skin are irritated, which stimulates the organ associated with the appropriate skin zone and improves its blood supply. Then, thanks to the negative pressure, a small amount of blood is sucked out of the tiny vessels into the subcutaneous tissue. The body treats this blood as a foreign body, so it stimulates the immune system to fight, "incidentally" fighting the infection.
How to place the bubbles?
If necessary, you can place bubbles even every other day. A well-performed procedure is not painful, although the feeling of sucking in the skin is rather unpleasant. The rules for placing fire and vacuum bubbles are the same.
- Before the treatment, wash the cups with warm water and soap and dry them.
- Lightly grease the skin. For treating neuralgia or pain syndromes, you can apply an anti-inflammatory ointment on it.
- Use 6 (for small children) to 30 bubbles at a time, for 15-20 minutes.
- Depending on the ailment to be treated, you can put the cupping cups on the chest or back (colds, bronchitis or pneumonia), in the lumbar or sacral area (sciatica, degenerative pain in the spine), along the spine on both sides (neuralgia, neurosis pain syndromes). Avoid the spine, shoulder blades, collarbones, choose muscular parts of the body and with fatty bedding, then the bubbles will stick well. Cups must not be placed near the heart, large blood vessels, on the breasts, and also in the area of skin lesions (blisters, nipples, etc.).
- After removing the bubbles, rub the skin with alcohol and then grease it. Make sure the sick person lies under a warm blanket. A well-performed procedure is evidenced by dark red cakes - traces of bubbles (they will disappear after a few days).
If you are using bubblesvacuum, you put the vessel to the body and pull out the air with the plunger. On the other hand, to put up the fire bubbles, you need a candle, spirit (e.g. denatured alcohol) and a stick with a swab wound on it. You soak the cotton ball in spirit, light the candle and put the burning candle inside the bubble for 2-3 seconds, and then quickly put the bubble on your body.
ImportantNot only for colds
- Cupping is a proven method of treating, above all, respiratory infections - colds, runny nose, flu, bronchitis, pneumonia.
- Cups affect the entire body, improving blood circulation and enhancing the immune system.
- They can also be helpful in some rheumatic diseases (e.g. shoulder joint inflammation, sciatica), back and muscle pains, radiculitis.
