I'm 21 years old, I'm engaged to be married. I have never had sex with my fiancé and never had any partner before him, and he had no partner. I was planning to go to the gynecologist with an inquiry about the HPV vaccine, because we plan to get married in 1.5 years. Unfortunately, I am concerned about certain aspects of my relationship with my fiancé. We had oral closeness twice, but my fiance has always struggled with the problem of the so-called cold (inherited the problem from his mother). When this contact happened, he was cold and he applied a medicated plaster to cover the place. In retrospect, we found it unwise. In an intimate place I have never noticed any strange changes, itching or marks. Another time, it was me who touched my partner in this way, but it was a short, delicate contact, without any decisive movements, something like a "brush", nothing happened. But later, after a week or so, I noticed two mouth ulcers and something like a rash. Everything also disappeared after a week after using the ointment for ulcers. It never happened again. We have been together for three years and this form of closeness happened only twice. I would also like to add that I have never had a cold on my lips before establishing a relationship with my fiancé or during the relationship. However, I am puzzled by a few things, because I found a lot of different information on the Internet. Namely, does the fact that my fiancé has herpes mean that he carries the HSV virus? If after oral intercourse I have not felt any infections, is it not possible to infect my intimate areas with herpes? How can I get infected with HPV - because I read on the leaflet from the clinic that only sexually during sex - does oral contact also allow this? And finally - the most important - are there any possibilities thanks to which both me and my fiancé can examine our organisms and check whether we have, for example, HPV, HSV in the genitals or in the mouth? I have an appointment with the gynecologist in a month's time and my partner also goes to the urologist, but in the meantime I would like to learn something preliminary. I've heard that viruses like HPV and HSV can cause various diseases. Is it possible, then, for us to find out aboutdo we carry these viruses in us? As I mentioned, I am a virgin, my fiance is the first partner and I am also the first partner for him and he has never had sex with anyone. Yours sincerely

Herpes is most often caused by infection with the herpes virus. This is a different type of virus than the one that causes external genital herpes. You can catch HPV through direct contact, no matter where the lesion is. The papillomavirus has an affinity for cells in the genital area. You can get tested for HPV. The test identifies 37 types of virus, and there are approximately 100 of them.
