Eating too much is bad, and calorie restriction is good for your body. So is the fasting he althy?
We are convinced that a large appetite is evidence of he alth, that "looking good" means having a lot of body. That is why it is so hard for us to believe thatfastingcan be a cure for many ailments.
Hunger - chimney clogged
The experiences of our ancestors confirm that fasting cures. But why? It's easy. Our body works like a huge factory that produces the energy we need to live. By-products are always produced during the combustion process. Our body gets rid of them thanks to the circulating blood and lymph. However, food full of preservatives and fat, as well as environmental contamination and cigarettes, make us produce waste that nature has not prepared for us to remove. In addition, we eat less and less vegetables and fruits, rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. And it is they that accelerate combustion. Our "furnace" is clogging, it works slower and slower. Waste builds up and weakens internal organs. We start having problems with digestion and circulation, we suffer from migraines, joint pains, our skin turns gray, covered with blemishes. From here it is only a step to serious diseases.
Hunger - autolysis
When we do not supply food from the outside, all accumulated toxins, deposits and fat stores themselves become fuel. Interestingly, the body uses them to repair various broken "parts and components". This is why all wounds and cuts heal faster during fasting. We owe it to autolysis, i.e. digesting our own cells. The process works precisely. In the first place, the tissues without which the body can function properly are digested. Only at the end are the substances needed for life absorbed. We should not worry that the body will "eat" itself. The brain and heart are areas that are not autolysed - they are protected.
Hunger - internal doctor
The process of cleansing and rebuilding the body is the awakening of the inner doctor. Thanks to him, many diseases simply pass. We all know that, for example, during the flu we do not have an appetite. It is the body's natural defense. We mistakenly believe that we should force ourselves to eat because it will give us strength to recover. Nothing similar! It takes energy to digest a meal, and it will take it from us. This also applies to young children - do not force them to eat whileinfection. Influenza treated with fasting lasts shorter, but we must remember that it is not allowed to fast, at least for the first time, without the supervision of a natural medicine doctor or a dietitian.
Preparing for fasting
There are many cleansing diets, but real fasting is simply fasting and drinking warm water. Some therapists also recommend drinking herbal teas. As you can guess, water flushes out the trash that has accumulated there over the years from our body. It is best to drink low-mineralized during fasting. Thanks to this, we will relieve the kidneys, which are now working so hard. Let's not drink huge amounts, let's trust our own sense of thirst.
According to an expertDr. Małgorzata Kozłowska-WojciechowskaI do not believe in the effectiveness of the post. I believe that it has no justification and is not a good method of cleansing the body. This is a non-physiological, unnatural state. There is no scientific evidence that it helps anything. It only causes disturbances at the metabolic level of the body.
When and how long?
Fasting may last from 2-3 days to 6 weeks. If you decide to take it for the first time, it is worth doing it on vacation, preferably on a special stay. We then have a guarantee that trained personnel watches over us all the time. It also helps to support other participants of the trip. We can calm down during this time, meditate to get to know ourselves better. Let us leave the problems of everyday life for later. Anyway, they will turn out to be much less important then. The best time to go hungry is spring, summer and early fall.
Unpleasant ailments during fasting
We can have them, but don't be discouraged by them:
- purulent eczema on the skin
- unpleasant and intense smell of sweat and urine, characteristic for the fourth day
- bone pain
- mood swings.
These are signals that the body is releasing toxins. After four days, all these sensations usually pass. Many people speak of the extraordinary feeling of lightness and clarity of mind that followed. The appearance of the complexion is improved. The senses are sharpened, especially the smell and taste. According to some doctors, the body rejuvenates by five years!
Before the fast
Talk to household members and friends. It is important that they do not discourage you and do not fear for your he alth. One week or two before the scheduled date, go on a light diet. The doctor will set her up for you. It is definitely worth giving up meat and dairy products, fatty foods and sweets. The closer to the fast, the lighter the food. You can give yourself a gentle enema every other day.
During fasting
Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Focus only on yourselfanalyze new sensations. Don't spend all your time at home, walk a lot if you like, go on a short bike trip, go for a jog. Oxygenating the body is half the battle! Give over to overdue reading, write back to the letters. Get some rest, go to bed early. Often take a shower combined with a full body massage with a sharp sponge - always towards the heart. This makes it easier to wash away toxins from the pores of the skin.
ImportantIn every religion in the world, fasting is a special moment of purification before the big festival ahead.
- Shamans, sages, and philosophers regularly abstained from eating, often for days on end.
- Pythagoras fasted 40 days before taking his university exams. He later required the same from his students.
- In ancient Egypt it was noticed that the social strata that eat abundantly and regularly, do not starve, for example during droughts, i.e. the rich elite, often suffer from serious diseases.
After the hunger strike
Contrary to appearances, this is the most difficult moment. Success depends on the right ending, which should last as long as the fasting itself. Under the supervision of a doctor, you slowly return to eating. You start with infusions and decoctions of vegetables, after two days you can include boiled potatoes, grated apples. The most important thing, however, is not to return to bad eating habits!
Fasting heals many diseases
- cardiovascular system: heart, hypertension, varicose veins
- digestive system: gastritis, enteritis
- skin: juvenile acne, atopic dermatitis
- allergies
- migraines
- tendency to infections of the upper respiratory tract
- cellulite
Who is not allowed to fast
Fasting must be abandoned by pregnant women and nursing mothers, convalescents after heavy surgeries, teenagers, elderly people who constantly take medications, and those suffering from cancer, tuberculosis, hyperthyroidism, diabetes and hypoglycemia, mental diseases.
Don't do thatMedication starvation should not be confused with starvation for political reasons (e.g. nurses' protests) or simply because of poverty. Lack of food has no he alth benefits and can certainly only be harmful. It is worth remembering.
