Yesterday morning I had the bottom seven surgically removed, or actually the roots, because the crown was damaged during the root canal treatment. The treatment ended with curettage and dressing, everything went smoothly. Yesterday, even after the anesthetic had worn off (3 injections, a dozen or so punctures), the pain was almost imperceptible and the swelling was very slight. Today it is worse, on the outside of the cheek, right next to the jawbone, there is a clear swelling and I feel pain despite painkillers (1 tablet of Pyralginum every 6-8 hours, because I do not want to overdo it). I don't drink hot or cold drinks, but only summer juices through a straw. I only eat liquid foods. How can I soothe the swelling? Will the cold have a negative effect - e.g. cold compresses? I will be grateful for help. Regards

The healing process of an extraction wound depends on several factors. Among other things, from which tooth the extraction concerns (e.g. the area after the eighth extraction takes longer to heal - even up to several dozen days). If you have any doubts or suffer greatly, please do not delay your visit to the dentist. He should inspect the extraction area and help you.
