Baby wipes make changing easier, because they allow you to quickly and easily clean the skin of whatever is in the diaper. The wipes are arranged in layers in the package, so you can take them out one at a time, exactly as many as needed.
Moistened baby wipes are known today to all parents and not only. On internet forums, however, the question often arises: where are wipes better than cotton buds and boiled water, which can be used to wash the skin just as well? Answer: wipes, especially for novice parents, are much more convenient to use. You only need one hand to operate them (with the other hand you hold the child's legs up). In addition, a toddler who fidgeted when he was overturned, can easily overturn the bowl with water, pouring everything around.
A wet handkerchief is soft and slippery to the touch, resembling a thin cotton cloth. It is made of specially treated, elastic and strong fibers, additionally soaked with cleansing and nourishing substances. Manufacturers also add small amounts of preservatives that are safe for a child's skin. When transporting, it is easy to transfer the microorganisms from the skin to the packaging. Without preservatives, the substances contained in the wipes would quickly start to deteriorate.
The wipes do not contain any means to protect the skin against the action of urine and feces. Therefore, each time after cleansing your butt, you should additionally apply a cream to prevent chafing, preferably one that contains zinc oxide, which creates a thin layer on the surface of the skin that does not allow moisture to pass through.
ImportantWhen is the water better?
Wipes should be dispensed with in case of allergy or diaper rash, as the substances contained in them may additionally irritate it. In such situations, you should clean the baby's bottom with a cotton swab dipped in boiled, slightly warm water.
Baby wipes - what do they contain?
You will find over a dozen types of handkerchiefs in stores. They differ not only in the color of the packaging and the name of the company, but also in what they have inside. Some are impregnated with chamomile balm, others with olive, others with aloe or calendula, there are also those with moisturizing andcaring for the skin. All of them can be divided into two groups: unscented and slightly perfumed.
The first one was created for the delicate skin of newborns and allergic children. The second type is intended for toddlers who are already one month old and have no skin problems. It happens that the care substances contained in the wipes sensitize or irritate the skin. Then you need to change the type of wipes, preferably one from the line for sensitive skin, and if that does not help, give them up at all.
To keep the wipes fresh as long as possible, store them properly. This is important because the lotion or cream with which the wipes are soaked dries in contact with air, and dry wipes no longer fulfill their role as they should. Therefore, the foil packaging should be tightly closed after each use or put the wipes in a special plastic box.
